I use these to stop the "he/she stole my pencil" in my 1st grade classroom. Each student has there own color. I use these with tie dye and metallic. Kids love them! The yellow is a bit disappointing but I just pick a less fussy student to give it to.

I go these for bus stop hand outs to kids for the Spring. I am happy to say that they really do change color. They changed color better in my daughter’s hands then mine and at a faster rate. However, if they didn’t change color I would be happy as well because they also have inspirational sayings on them! So I made sure I had a win-win. Pics are to show the diff between a held pencil and a not held pencil. Some change more and faster than others, but in the whole I am pleased!

The media could not be loaded.  I bought these as Christmas gifts for my 5th graders, and decided to sharpen them before giving them. Good thing I did! Every single one sharpens crooked (you know, how there's more wood on one side so it doesn't sharpen the lead properly?) and the lead in several broke as I was sharpening them. (I tried multiple sharpeners.) Also, the heat sensitivity doesn't work with warm hands--you have to rub the pencil to get it to change color. If I hadn't already sharpened a dozen of them I would return this post haste!

I bought these in a rush because I needed them next day for a school event and thought they'd be so cool for the kids. We tried squeezing tight with our fingers, and then hands, and breathing on them, but nothing. You have to squeeze them in the crook of your elbow or run hot water over them for the color to change.I gave them a 3 though because they still look nice, they sharpen well, and the lead doesnt fall out after you sharpen them like cheap pencils do.The eraser actual works well too. Meaning it actually erases and doesn't just smear.It's not a total waste of money because they are quality pencils, but I bought them because they color change and that part is pretty disappointing.
