It seals properly
This kit is expensive but it does go on easily in about 45 minutes or less.Had very little excess of U seal, and exact amount on bulb seal. Not sure how that happened.Use a soft mallet to install bulb seal and seat properly. I couldnt push it on by hand.End caps were inadequate, so I glued extra rubber that I had laying around to make it thicker by 1/2". No closing issues. Trying to keep mice out of basement. This should slow them down if not stop them outright. If it doesnt stop the mice, there are traps waiting for them on the other side.

Works fine but expensive
Works fine but expensive and if your door is not perfectly installed . level and square actually it will not seal gaps and still have warmth escape. Sad.

High price
The product is good it works as described. The directions are clear. My only complaint is I can’t understand why the price is so high when it’s just clearly made out of rubber and plastic but otherwise love the product made a big improvement.

Not a one size fits all; not a total solution to weather issues
I have an older Bilco basement door that was allowing rain to enter when the wind was blowing. I could see daylight at the top and bottom of the doors when the doors were closed.....so I had hoped to seal it tighter with this kit. After applying all of the rubber seals I could not close the doors! I had to remove the middle seal where the doors overlapped to get the doors closed. After closing the doors, I still had visible air gaps at the top and bottom of the doors. I eventually closed these gaps using round pipe insulating rubberized foam. The kit is an expensive limited partial solution, not a complete solution.I did ask a home contractor about sealing the Bilco door. He proposed a complete replacement! While this is an older door (at least 45 years old), it is solid thick steel. I rarely use the door, so an expensive replacement was not a cost-effective option. Disappointed with this Bilco kit. Considered returning it, but I did cut the rubber gaskets to install the kit. Bottom line: it's an expensive partial solution.
