Testing the waters
This is a good book for beginners or young makers. It only has a few projects, but those will be a good indicator on whether your kids wants to more of this type of thing.

Projects either too simple or too complex
Seemed at once for very young makers (make a wand!) and older kids (make a dovetail jointed box!). Projects were a plain box (ok, with a secret compartment), a wand, sanding blocks and a charging station.

Kid appropriate
Perfect compliment to the kid-sized tool box, with projects for dad and son.

I thought the book was a useful introduction to looking after tools
I bought this for my 8 year old grandson knowing that he likes woodwork. I thought the book was a useful introduction to looking after tools. I was hoping it would encourage him with his reading but I failed.

Ok start for kids... but...
This book seemed like a great book from the description. The formatting and layouts are very attractive. Certainly there is a lot of good content for starting out. I felt however that the actual projects were lacking in quantity and quality.
