MULTI BOILER REPLACES MULTI POT AND BEATS IT BY A MILE
The Nordic Ware MULTI BOILER is the new or UPDATED VERSION OF THE MULTI POT, which was discontinued a few months ago. The old style had only one handle, which made it difficult to center in the microwave and even more difficult to drain, as there was only one handle to hold the lid against when pouring/draining.This NEW version has TWO HANDLES, two little grips, with one on either side of the pot, which directly align to the lid's two handles. The lid is identical to the old multi pot lid and is designed to function the same way. This version can be PERFECTLY CENTERED in the microwave for EVEN HEATING and is designed for TWO HANDED DRAINING like a lot of the new microwave pasta cookers. On this new version, because of the two convenient grips that match up to the lid's grips, you can actually turn the pot fully upside-down, if needed. This is a brilliant update to an already wonderful product. I've been asking for this about once a year for several years (as have so many others) and Nordic Ware finally came through. We now have a multi pot, called the mutli boiler, that was designed for two handed use, centering in the microwave, pasta cooking and draining, but, on top of all that, can also be placed on the edge of the turn table, when needed, allowing for the two handles to parallel the edge of the turntable for easy removal, without the hassle of having to turn the long handle inward and then reach around to grab it or worry about the handle hitting the side of a too small microwave. They still recommend using pot holders to remove this from your microwave, as with the previous version. As always, this is a BPA FREE plastic item designed for MICROWAVE use. It can be washed in the dishwasher on the top rack, but may warp or discolor from modern heated dishwashers, so, the best cleaning method is a good old fashioned hand-washing, just like the old multi pot.P.S. I have no idea why they felt the need to change the name but, again, this is the replacement for the multi pot. THE MULTI BOILER is the REPLACEMENT for the MULTI POT which has been discontinued.

Only bad thing about this is the color
I really hate the color red. But that is the only negative thing about this pot. I owned one years ago and got rid of it in a fit of plastic hating. I decided to use only glass. Well, heck. Glass is so dang heavy. You have to worry about dropping and breaking it. It’s better for the environment, but a pain to use. I had to carry my lunch bag with 2 hands and all that clanging was making me deaf. But this little pot is WONDERFUL! It comes with instructions on how to cook rice, pasta, oatmeal, etc. in this pot. I use it for practically everything. Canned soups, ramen, rice, pasta, veggies. I love the lid which doubles as a strainer. One thing I love to microwave is mashed potatoes. Cube the potatoes and cover with water. Cook them for about 10 minutes (you’ll learn soon how long to cook for how big you cube the potatoes). Use the lid to drain the water. Mash right in the pot. I use 1-2 potatoes for myself.I travel for work and live in hotels a lot. With a fridge and microwave, you can do a lot. This little pot helps me cook a ton of things in the microwave. I love it and will never give it up, even if they prove that plastic gives you anal warts and dementia.

Just right and the lid is perfect
Wanted something to cook veggies in the microwave, but the lid had to be slotted. This fits my needs perfectly. I got two of them.

Needs a tray
This review is for the Nordic Ware microwave multi boiler item number 0040870 UPC 011172685001. This is a nice little microwave pot with the bowl measuring at 6 inches in diameter and standing about 3 and 1/2 inches tall. The lid adds about 1-1/2" inches of height. The lid snaps into place when used as a cover but is not difficult to remove. My only suggestion for an improvement would be to include an interior rack or tray so that you can set veggies up out of the water and actually steam them rather than boil them in the water. Made in USA.

ONE OF THE BEST KITCHEN 'GADGETS' WE OWN!!
***If you use a microwave- YOU NEED THIS!!!*We have three at home, my husband has one at work, and all three of my kids have been given one by me!*We do use those large microwave covers for big plates to avoid splatters, but for smaller portions.......This microwave bowl with cover is a necessity when heating soups, lasagna, chocolate, butter!!... anything- especially foods that need to be heated for over a few minutes that need to get really not-for-profit this works great!*The outside of this bowl WILL get hot, so handle with care when removing from microwave!* It holds about 4 1\2 cups, to the top. I wouldn't fill to the top when heating in the microwave, but for measurement purposes, about 4 1\2 cups.* You can use the cover for smaller bowls if you need to.* They clean beautifully, by hand or dishwasher. If you do heat a really greasy food, you may need to soak in a dishwashing liquid to remove grease. I use Dawn.Seriously one of the best kitchen 'gadgets' that I have bought. I purchased our first one about 8 years ago. I went to buy another one a few years later, and it was so hard to find! Our first one has one long handle (still using), and we now have the bowls with two short handles. They both work the same! Love, love, love these!!!

Poltergeist Lid
I have tried this several times with pasta and with rice and each time the lid pops off in the microwave. I have tried lower power and shorter times and I have always - ALWAYS, I SWEAR TO GOOGLE! - always used exactly the right exact amount of water and still... BOOM! I called Nordicware and while they are only open from 10:33am to 10:52am the second Tuesday of the month, I managed to catch them after their mid-morning coffee klatch and sure enough, I have the only Multi-boiler whose errant lid will not remain. Absolutely no solutions or offers of help. I let them get back to their coffee and wrote this.
