Teapot 150ml Yixing genuine Zisha XIshi Beauty style pots tea tool (red sand)

I wasn't expecting too much considering a good yixing easily goes for $150+. But it was black friday and I like the XiShi style and size so i went for it. Cost me $16 pretax. Delivered quickly and came in a beatup but well padded box completely intact. I gave it a 30 minute bath in boiling temp water (not actively heated to not bump it). Definitely slip cast molded, definitely clay, most likely not yixing clay, and defintely not handmade. Heat retention is good and causes my pu'er to open faster and brew stronger compared to a gaiwan. Pours with a bit of dribble but very solid overall, does not clog in my experience. Lid fit is fairly good, but not perfect, if you cover the air hole and press the lid tightly, it will not flow out. Clay has at least some porosity, but I don't expect it to properly season like a real yixing.Overall, good *clay* pot for starters, 150ml is great single person sized gongfu, good heat retention and decent lid fit + pour, defintely not real yixing clay or handmade but for this price, you couldn't get that even if you went to yixing city in China. buy this pot at the very start and replace with a $100-150 pot from a reputable vendor like bitterleaf, crimsonleafteas, realzisha.com etc after a year or two if you have the money to spare and like the feel of it.

It's a tiny pot. Very attractive, and functional. My issues are that it's smaller than the 150ml, as described, and the short spout causes water to run down the front.

Calling this a yixing pot is understandably laughable, as it is obvious false advertising. The spout dribbles, the lid fits poorly and leaks when you pour, etc. I don't get too much of a nasty clay taste, but it is there. The horible taste this pot cooks into your tea somewhat went away a bit after I boiled it with an oz of spent puerh leaves and let it sit in the soup for a few hours.I really don't understand why sellers feel the need to lie about what these products really are. I bought both colors, and both have the same problems, so I am sure this is not a one-off problem. If I didn't know what I was signing up for with this purchase, I would be mega pissed off for the blatant false advertising. I understand anything close to real would be 10x the price, so I'm not upset.

First: it's SO CUTE. I love this traditional shape. Two: works as advertised. Small. Brews tea. Feels lovely in hand. Passes the upside down test, so the lid fits well. Three: no fishy smells, no off smells, nothing off putting. I haven't actually tested it with a lead kit or anything, but the look and scent are good and I feel like this pot is unlikely to secretly kill me. Four: really nice, smooth workmanship. There is an obvious seam down the middle, but I don't care about that. I just wanted something safe to brew tea in. Five: honestly, great value and a lovely little gateway pot if you want to get into this style of brewing without selling plasma first.

Not bad quality for $20, nice and large for groups of 3-4. The spout is a bit awkward for pouring and it can spill at times while pouring. Otherwise, a nice starter yixing pot!

For the price this teapot is of exceptional quality. It even stood up to the lid staying on while inverted test! There are no visible seams in the one I received. I found it to hold closer to 7.5 oz or 200++ ml, but this may be due to other factors as I ordered a returned item from Amazon. Still very satisfied with my purchase and would order another from this shop as a gift for a friend.

So I got this pot I was expecting a decent quality but nothing extravagant. I mean it was only eighteen dollars. When it came in I opened up the box and wrapped in a little silk pouch was a gorgeous Gong-Fu teapot. Even more it came with this little string that ties the handle to the actual lid of the teapot. Then I open up the pot and there was a small little bag of black tea in there. I did have to boil some water and pour it in the teapot and get some of the extra clay off of it. Yet I got way more in this teapot than I should have for its price. The lid fit almost perfectly. It even passes the water inside the teapot upside down test. Overall I plan to buy the red sand teapot soon.
