The Secret of the Chateau

It is quite enjoyable how the author goes back to the past up to the present day, merging the two together. The book was so enjoyable you would like to visit this group of friends for a vacation too, however the French past is not a favorite of mine, but was really nicely done not to overwork the French history. Honestly the author is one of my favorite for story telling.

Easy reading but some elements not researched, i.e. a goat will not produce milk without having a kid, goat cheese needs an expert to be produced. Also whole story written prior to Brexit, not that easy to move to France these days unfortunately.

I passed this book onto a friend who enjoys this genre, i.e. part history, royal fanilies plus romance.

Didn’t real get into it !!
