States 14k but they don't look 14k at all, only look to have a tint of gold in them . . .

I have found the clasp to be quite durable!

Q: What is that little hole at the front of the earring?

The back of the earring wire goes into it to complete the circle. They are hard to get in until you get the hang of it.
