The scissor was easy to use with these old hands that have arthritis. Working on my project was a breeze.

I expect to use this tool in my art quilt appliqué projects. I gave it a test and couldn’t be happier with the way it works, the clean cut edge and how well it fits in my hand.

Seem nice and sturdy. I snipped through a few assorted scraps in the bin to see how well they cut, and they cut neatly through light rayon, tee shirt jersey, and some heavier cotton duck. I look forward to trying them out on a real garment, and hope to come back and upgrade my review to five stars.The packaging they arrived in was a little cheesy looking, and I worried for a moment. But at least it wasn't an annoying clamshell. Once they were out of the package they looked very nice and felt comfortable in my hand.

I love to machine applique, addicted to applique is more accurate. If I want to trim a small piece in the hoop, it can become an Olympic event. Twisting and turning around the machine and needle can be a work out to the hands and wrists. I bought the curved scissors but as a right hander, I can't trim to the left with them because the curve goes the opposite way. I have snips. While I absolutely adore my snips, it is easy to snip a hole in the shirt without realizing it. Yes, I have done that more than I care to admit.I finally decided to try the duck bill. My problem is solved! I can trim the applique like a pro! I get right next to the stitches without cutting anything extra. I never have any material or fraying show through the outline stitching any more. Trimming on either side of the design is simple. The scissors are very sharp so I don't pull the shirt and throw off the design. These scissors have saved my sanity and my projects. The price is a steal. Give them a try!!

The idea behind duck bill scissors is for the flat part to hold back the garment's fabric while you can trim off excess unwanted fabric beyond the stitching. These scissors cut well, as long as you work slowly and carefully.But if you speed up, you can still easily cut the actual garment while trying to trim the excess.So take your time.

I'm not blessed with long piano playing fingers, so these were a little bit uncomfortable, but as my first time doing applique embroidery, I was impressed with maneuverability and ease of use. I didn't pick an easy design to start with and it was rather small (5in bunny shark and i had to stitch/cut 3 swatches of fabric in the design with a lot of corners and sharp edges). I had no problems getting close to my stitching without compromising and having to start over. Will definitely order products from ThreadNanny in the future.
