Sony25DPW47SPM 4x DVD+RW Rewritable DVD Media - 25-Pack Spindle

Verbatim use to be the very best when using either the - or + format, or, Verbatim +RW and dual layer discs. But in very recent production Verbatim moved their Taiwan quality product to now India and Singapore, China and for the first time they undermined their quality controls for reliability over producing a less reliable, cheaper product. Therefore, I know that Sony also has good over all quality products and to a point, want quality control. The rich AZO dyes are important when recording on DVD recorders which perform better at lower speeds (X2 X4 X 8 ) for the stand alone DVD recorders. The worst thing folks can do is buy store bought 16X discs for stand alone DVD recorders. Now Im sure that computers with DVD recording can keep up with the faster speed discs, but only computers. Stand alone DVD recorders fair far better the lower the number of spins when trying to capture live TV shows and events. Sony packaging for these discs are vague on country of origin. But once tested, they did perform well and do have the same rich AZO dyes needed for archiving and recording . These are given a thumbs up, and the price is right.

Just what I asked for

Great service, great price. I collect movies by the thousands and through a very expensive process of trial and error I have learned that Sony +RW is the only brand to consider for my Magnavox ZV42MG9 DVD recorder. I have tried Memorex, Phillips, Verbatim, and Maxell with frustrating, disappointing results. When I insert those discs I get a message "Will not record on this disc." and in a stack of 25 discs as few as 5 of them will actually allow me to format them for recording. My only concern is that I have read a rumor that Sony is getting out of the disc making business which means I'll buy up all available inventory as quickly as possible before the scavengers swoop in.My Magnavox recently died and I bought a Samsung DVD recorder for only $130 and while they look alike on the face my precious +RW discs wouldn't work. I studied the Samsung's manual and it was revealed on page 27 that only -RW discs will work! I immediately bought the only remaining Magnavox ZV42MG9 in existence, or so I was lead to believe. It hasn't arrived yet, it is "refurbished" and I am skeptical. Good Luck!

All good! I've been getting these for years, very reliable. Find a bad disc once in a while, but fewer than other brands. Works in all my recorders and playback DVD players, not all brands of discs are so compatible with most players/recorders.

Very nicely packaged spindle of RW+DVD media. I have used one of the optical discs to record my old Commodore Amiga 2000's playing of my program "StochasticMusic" from May 15, 1988 in real-time. I connected the composite output from the Amiga into an old Magnavox VHS-DVD recorder/dubber's composite in and recorded on a Sony RW+DVD disc. I used an old Apple Cinema display as a monitor by connecting it to the Magnavox recorder via its HDMI output through a BlueRigger HDMI cable and HDMI to DVI adapter. On the same disc I recorded me playing my Roland ready Fender Mexican Stratocaster through a Roland GR-20 guitar synthesizer into the Magnavox RCA stereo input (I recorded audio only). Both recordings sound good and the first recording looks good even though it is monochrome.

I purchased these discs for use in my VHS/DVD combo to transfer home videos from VHS and mini 8 tapes to DVD and then to my computer in a digital format. I have been careful with these discs but have found that they are very easily scratched on the plastic side. While rewriting over old information I have also found that frames from previous recordings pop up in the new ones, suggesting that information may not be reliably being rewritten over the old stuff. For the price, they are good. Next time I'll buy something that is higher quality.

When I first got these Sony DVD+rw more than a decade ago, The Dvds were great but now it's hard to find these rewritable discs from Sony or anybody else without spend more than double or triple its price, its a shame that no body makes dvd recorders and disc anymore. in other places in the world they are now getting Blu-ray writable discs and recording machines but not us.

Excellent protection and great quality, I have used many of these discs multiple times and thus far I have experienced no ill effects.They are great as you can use them in almost all situations, they have a huge capacity so are great for back ups etc.The abilty to be used again and re-written is a featuer that is excellent and one that is a daily useful feature.A great buy overall despite being more expensive than others you dont want to buy single use discs only to run out of either storage or discs as I have ,these prevent those sinarios!!Well worth the money
