I love the concept and the shape of the opening. I had been using a main jar, but I wanted a wider mouth container.The glass is thin and it’s smaller than I expected. I usually feed with 100g flour, and after a pour out, my usual end volume finishes past the halfway point in the container. I’ve had to reduce by half to ensure there is enough room for growth. I love the concept, the level indicator, and the temp, just wish it was larger.

Thought it was so cute, but I am very disappointed. Although I now see a picture comparing the container to the size of a pop can, I did not see that when I ordered. The first picture that shows what looks like a nice sized jar in front of 2 sour dough loaves makes the item appear much larger than it actually is. The 3" square is barely large enough to dump a measuring cup into without spilling flour. You have to use something long and narrow like a butter knife to stir, which makes mixing well very difficult. And after just a short time, the temp gauge sticker and the magnet edges (that you have to cut to fit and then put on) are already starting to peel up. Definitely not worth the money.

I got this for my sourdough obsessed sis. She loves it. Easy to track the sourdough growth to know when it’s ready to use.

The container is great, the magnetic strip began to detach on my first cleaning after first rise. The thermometer is very hard to see.

This sour dough starter has a bamboo top that tightly seals the starter so it can be placed on counter. It is a cute little display for my toddler son who likes the measuring magnets that show when the starter has double in size when you feed it. It also has a thermometer. The magnetic strip has to be cut to fit the jar and the sour dough line starter indicators attach to that and i put the thermometer strip under it. easy, and useful. make some sour dough bread for yourself.
