Q: How many inches is the cleaning path?

Cleaning path is about 11 inches. I can highly recommend this vacuum against models by Shark, Bissell, and Hoover. Its a simple design that only does one thing (cleans carpet) but does it amazingly well. Very light and easy to handle, and designed to be kept for many years.

Q: I have heard you can convert to a throw away bag. Yes? Anyone know the details or a link?

I don’t know. I liked the feature of the shake out bag.

Q: Thought I was buying a bagged vacuum, does this shake out model allow you to use bags?

This model has its own reusable bag, but I understand you can get an attachment to use bags on it if you want. I have had mine for a little while now and it works great.
