March of the Vanderpants: A Branches Book (The Notebook of Doom #12) (12)

My 6 year old boy loves these books! He asked me "Do you know who my favorite author is?", I answer "Troy Cummings", and he says with a big smile "You know it!". He also has read the first 15 or so of the Magic Tree House books, and he likes those, but he gets much much more excited to read the Notebook of Doom series.He started to write one of his own notebook of doom books... so this has definitely encouraged him to be more creative. The monsters aren't that terrible, but the books made him nervous a few times, and it was a good conversation starter for how monsters are not real, and how being scared/nervous is healthy, and what it means to brave/courageous.

I feel like it has pretty hard to find reading level appropriate books for my son that he gets excited about. When I found these Notebook of Doom books, I knew I had a winner! My son loves these books. He has all but one in his collection now. This series is tied for 1st (with Fanny K Stein series and Dog Man) as his favorite books to read. We started reading these together when he was in 1st grade, he started reading them more on his own entering 2nd grade & is now entering 3rd and has been reading them 100% on his own for some time now. He connects with the characters and LOVES all the silly situations they get themselves into. I highly recommend these books.

These book are great for kids. My 7 year old loves the books and this one is book 12 and didn't disappointment. We prefer physcial over ebooks as there is nothikng like relaxiing with reading a good book.

Bought for son who has read all the rest in this series.These are great reads for younger kids wanting to read - short chapters, nice illustrations, character development, plot development.Al in good fun.Minor name-calling, but other than that rather clean

My 9-year-old LOVES the Notebook of Doom series. She has read this book 3 times. Last year she was "behind" in her reading level. I really think finding books she loved to read (these and a few other series) really helped her improve her reading skills. There are boy and girl characters, humans and monsters. Very creatively written.

This was another fun read for me and my 6YO. We love this series and seeing the characters being developed is really fun. He's already excited for the next book even though we don't know what it is or when it will come out!

All of the Notebook of Doom books are a must read! My grandchildren loved them and it inspired them to write their own journals!

My six year old says "It is awesome! It's just awesome, yo!" We have read all the books in this series and pre-ordered the next one. Enjoy!

We read a different Scholastic books series first and needed another good "first chapter" series with lots of pictures to keep their attention.They LOVE the characters and guessing who is the baddie and/or what could happen next.Whenever possible we use the Kindle edition and broadcast it to our TV via our Amazon Firebox (via wireless projection) so that everyone can see the text and the pictures.Again, LOVED by all of our kids and we have different ages and grasp of the world. It has gone so far, that our boys have us print out the monsters, trace them and then colour them in!
