Antmusic: The Very Best of

My daughter and I are huge fans. I raised her right lol. After seeing Adam Ant in his most recent tour, we decided we needed this to keep in the car. We play it a lot. Truly a lot. Probably going to wear it out soon. It’s a fantastic cd. Got all our favorites and a few my daughter didn’t know that have now become favorites too! You can’t go wrong with this CD if you are a fan.

The cd arrived on time, early in fact, and in good condition. I've been a fan since 1980. This collection covers his whole career. Great for long rides into town. I live in a rural area and enjoy being able to travel with my music. Very happy with the purchase and service.

Adam and The Ants were probably more exciting than their actual music, but while they were shaking people up with their antics, they were great fun. Their lone really good album, "Kings Of The Wild Frontier," is well represented here. The digital remaster does enhance the flat sounding CD's from Ant's career, and maybe a notch better than "Antics." If you remember the post-"Dirk" videos and songs fondly, this is an entertaining byproduct of the video happy era when "Antmusic" lured in hip college and high schoolers (I was a college junior at the time). So to my tastes, I'd had wished for "Beat My Guest," "Physical" or "Whip In My Valiase" over the vile annoyance of "Ant Rap" Had that been the track listing, I may have bumped the CD up a star.Like most of the many labels "Essential/Millenium" styled series, there seems to be an unwritten rule to give not quite everything worth having on each disc. On the plus side, you do get three B-Sides previously not on CD ("Friends" is the best of the trio), his attempt at a 90's comeback, "Wonderful," and his entry into 80's sythn-dance, "Room At The Top." That makes all his label periods represented on one 22 track disc, which is a solid value for the buck.These days, Adam's personal problems are certainly overshadowing his days of rock and roll notoriety. But there's just no denying it, when Adam and secret weapon/guitarist Marco were in their prime, they racked up a string of hooky singles that most song writers would sell their beads and makeup for. Even his last two hits (the dance heavy "Room At The Top" and the dreamy "Wonderful") have a certain charm that belie Adam's 15 year run as a record maker.

Had to pick this up. As a musician I had never heard anything like Adam and the Ants. Bought this best of due to fond memories at the time of its release.

I got to see Adam Ant in concert in Feb. 2017, after all these yrs he still kicks butt!! The cd is great! Got it so fast. arrived in perfect condition.

Unexpected failure on my choicesTook a chance and was not the right one

As an original Punk it always hurt me the way Adam Ant became a pin up sensation so finding a Best of that included the original Ant music of danger and originality alongside the hits was harder than I had imagined but luckily this is a fantastic collection....

A blast back in time when it was perfectly acceptable for men to dress as pirates with make up and ribbons in your hair.The CD showcases all the material from 1978 to 1985 when Adam and his merry men were at the peak of the charts. It has the early hits of young Parisians and car trouble from the fading punk era and then onto the more flamboyant style with classics like Antmusic, stand and deliver, prince charming and Kings of the wild frontier. There were some bizarre songs like Ant Rap but weirdly it did work with the heavy bass and the signature double drum sound.The band did split but the Adam ant and Marco Pironni still continued and Adam had a great start to his solo career with Goody two shoes, apollo 9 and puss 'n' boots. The CD features 22 tracks with 12 from the band days and 10 solo Adam tracks. A good mixture but feel his early stuff (Dirk wears white sox and Kings of Wild Frontier albums) was overlooked more in favour of the latter material.Overall, a good mix for those who were unaware of this dandy highwayman.

I watched Adam Ant on t.v., and thought he has made a remarkable recovery one way and another. Anyway, it prompted me to listen to some of his music, and I had forgotten how good it is and how much I used to like him. (Still do). So, I had a look on Amazon, and bought the very best of cd. It's great, brilliant songs (especially like Young Parisiens) and worth the money. I must be getting old, as the songs of my youth are suddenly very appealing (!) and this doesn't disappoint in any way. Buy it, you won't regret it.

Remember trailing high street to find a copy of Prince Charming with mother when I was about 10 but all sold out.At the time these were my fave group but times change, all the faves on this album but it is weird how a lot of the sound the same with that beat of rattling sticks in background. Still good nostalgic album.

1st Pop band I ever got into. Had all singles & albums. Enjoyed the CD & 2nd hand condition was excellent. Note to self, stop spending on nostalgia!!
