Easy to use if you understand RS-232 signals and wiring
They arrived and work as expected. It’s easy to use if you understand RS-232 wiring.Funny that Amazon asks me to rate this product on its “thickness” and “sheerness” and “ease of use”.

I liked them. I used these to make a cable for my APC uninterruptable power supply, for which i used a hyperterminal like program to access its built in command prompt. I used them to configure how many external batteries the Unit has connected to it. This brand of UPS has some wires switched around in there......non standard serial port..... so this product has screw terminals, allowing you the option to test or move wires around ...or to make new cables at a moments notice, which is very handy. They worked. The standoff/studs are present, so keep in mind of that. They come off, but anyone whom has ever delt with serial ports knows that the studs hold the shroud/sheild metal part on. youd want to glue it or put the proper flat screw through it etc.

Good value
Functional, and good value for the 2 pack. Worked well for my testing. The reason I knocked a star off is the female plug, which normally has screws, had the receiving nubs instead - same as the male. Since most male plugs have that as well, I had to remove the nubs in order to plug in my cord. The nubs hold on the metal plate, so then the plug was susceptible to wiggling. Just had to be careful with it.

Useful for writing up ES8266 to RS232/TTL adapter to old Radio Shack Color Computer
I was trying to work out what I needed to do to get a ESP8366 (TX, RX, GND) hooked up to my old Radio Shack Color Computer 3 and an RS-232 Pak (6551 chip). These were very useful to test out what was required to get all the signals tied together to make it communicate.

Very practical.
This will make it easy to interface 2 RS-232 devices. It allows you to try your connections before you solder anything.

I don't like you can't remove the nuts next to DB9 connector ...
I don't like you can't remove the nuts next to DB9 connector so I couldn't plug it straight into the laptop comm port so I have to use it with a short serial cable. First world problems.

These are great to use to check pinouts prior to powering uo expensive avionics.
