Worked Once...
The Freemo EVO Amp'd worked great on first attempt. The sound boost given to the Dot was better than expected and I was quite impressed with it!The issue I have is that the adapter connecting the Amp'd to the Dot stopped working. It no longer supplied power to the Dot as required. The Amp'd by itself worked as Bluetooth speaker and the Dot worked by itself plugged in, but when attached for operating p, no dice!Contacted Freemo and after several attempts to explain the issue, I allowed the rep to walk through her steps advising me to get the Amp'd working (which it did already), then she steps of connecting to Dot as Bluetooth (which already worked). She then stated PERFECT, Its working.I informed her, not so fast, because when I unplug Dot and attached to Amp'd, no power to Dot. She seemed c ok infused by this but finally agreed to send out new adapter.Awaiting adapter for further review of Fresno EVO Amp'd

My new Fremo EVO Amp'd - Great battery/speaker even greater customer service!
On June25 I purchased my Fremo EVO Amp'd, the intelligent battery base for the Echo Dot. Since I use my Dot mainly for music and audiobooks as I go about my daily routine the speaker volume, clarity and battery life is very important to me. Now, stay with me here...This is part one of two parts. Once I quickly received my battery/speaker and hooked everything up I sat back to enjoy my audiobook.. sadly there was barely a whisper. I rechecked the instructions (this is all very new to me) but I'd followed correctly. For a week I messed with it and was very frustrated. Finally I sent an email to the company's customer support. Part two is this - I received an answer very quickly (with in a few hours) and together we worked on every possibility. At their suggestion i was to send back the unit, they sent a pre paid postage via email and sent I it back. 48 hours later I had a new Fremo EVO Amp'd in my hands along with a follow up email asking if i needed assistance or if everything was working. This is GREAT customer care the like of which I haven't seen in years. Oh, and yes, I love my Fremo EVO Amp'd! It sounds wonderful

Great idea, poor execution
It stopped powering my echo dot about 10 days after the Amazon return policy ended. Front light now only lights up about 75% but never connects to the dot, even when plugged in. Very disappointingUPDATE: Spoke to the manufacturer, seems like the issue I've had is the extremely fragile connector that powers the dot. They immediately sent out a new one, plugged it in and it's working again. I'm a bit disappointed with the execution of the connector, it seems prone to breakage, maybe a more flexible less "pretty" solution could be had for folks that tend to keep their dot on the move in the workplace.UPDATE 2: I think it's dead. The speaker pops and cracks when trying to play music at pretty much any volume. Pretty disappointed that it didn't even make it to the a year (purchased June 2017).

NOT TO BE USED IN MEXICO, TOGETHER WITH THE ECHO DOT.
I bought both, the battery base and the ECHO DOT to be delivered at my daughter's address in Miami Beach, Fl. because I live in México City and didn't know that I couldn't install the Amazon Alexa app. on my 6 Plus iPhone because it's only available for using in the USA. For this reason I can only can use both devices as a bluetooth speaker, but I have already two of them so, I think I will return them unless somebody let me know the way to install the Amazon Alexa app. to be used in México. If I finally can install this app, I probably would be able to give 5 star.

Not as good as I hoped it would be and doesn't last long
I received this on 7/18/17 and it stopped working about 2 weeks ago. It lasted a total of 2 months. Currently the volume doesn't work properly it used to be louder and even on the highest volume setting the speaker is very low. Sometimes because of the speaker the actual echo dot doesn't register me talking to alexa but without the speaker on it works fine. The battery stopped lasting as long as originally guaranteed by the manufacturer. I'm highly disappointed with this purchase, the only upside is the portability of the echo dot but the price of this and the dot combined I would have just been better off with the echo tap instead and that's portable and backed by Amazon. I can't find a way to contact the manufacturer regarding this either. I don't recommend this product.

Meh!
Fairly decent sound, although not much louder than the echo dot itself. Attached well and easily enough. Nice that it was portable. Low end frequencies obviously not present. My biggest complaint (and reason for return) is that, for whatever reason, the echo dot became less responsive. I found myself almost yelling to get Alexa to respond. Or I would have to get right next to her. And that is stupid considering the echo dot has the same far field microphone as the echo

It's worth it
Stopped working after 1 month. It was awesome in the beginning and then nothing. Good luck getting to their website._______________________________________________________________________UPDATE: 8/26/2017I went through Amazon to get to the seller/company...via email. They quickly responded and sent me a new connector within a week. It's working again. I switched my rating from 1 star to 5 stars because when the battery wasn't work (bad connector) I really missed having the echo dot portable.

The Fremo Amp'd is possibly the best purchase I have made on amazon
The Fremo Amp'd is possibly the best purchase I have made on amazon. I originally had an "EVO", but found it lacking because there is no switch. With Alexa "always listening" the battery drained quickly. I bought it to replace an old radio in the bathroom. When showering in the morning I can hear news... weather... music...etc. The switch on the Amp'd not only shuts off the speaker, but also my Dot. It only requires charging maybe once a week and the Amp'd (plus the Amazon Dot) fire-up in less than a minute. I take them everywhere.. at BBQs this combo supplies entertainment.... people love challenging Alexa with random bands and requests. When working in the garage the Amp'd brings all the advantages of Alexa. The Amp'd speaker is not high-end, but serves far better than the speaker in a Dot. Great product!

A great additon for your Amazon Dot. It adds greatly improved volume and sound quality with complete portability of your Dot
This Bluetooth Speaker / Battery Pack arrived well packaged in a cardboard box.The Box contained 1x Bluetooth Speaker / Battery Pack, 1x Power bridge, 1x Instruction Booklet.I love my Amazon Echo dot's but one thing that does let them down is the inbuilt speaker. It's not very loud, but I always intended to use it in conjunction with a Bluetooth speaker. I like the echo that much that I was considering buying a third (I have two already) for using in the kitchen but then I started think about maybe finding a quick way to move one from room to room. I was using a small bluetooth speaker to move around with but you then lose the ability for the Dot to hear you.A quick search brought me to this device and I have to say it fulfils my needs perfectly. The Dot sits on top of this speaker and is held in place by a layer of adhesive. There's a supplied power bridge adapter that plugs into the Power socket of the Dot and the power input of the speaker. The Dot's Micro USB power cable then plugs into the Speaker. This pass through allows the battery to charge whilst always providing power to your dot. If you unplug the power cable the battery continues to power the dot. Without the power cable plugged in your Dot is now completely portable and will function perfectly as long as you stay in range of your Wireless Internet connection.Connecting to the Bluetooth speaker is very easy, as soon as you switch it on it's in pairing mode (The LED with be spinning) you just go to your Alexa App and add the speaker (It shows as EVO AMP). Once connected it will automatically connect each time your turn the Dot on.The volume of the speaker is much louder then the one built into the Dot. In fact no longer will I telling Alexa to set the volume to 10, as it's a bit too loud for my needs. The sound quality is also much better than the inbuilt speaker. I noticed that a couple of other reviews mention that they felt that the Dot became less responsive when connected to this. This is true but it isn't a fault, it's simply the the Dot can struggle to hear you over the increased volume of the speaker. If you keep the Dot near you this isn't a problem. My Dot now comes with me to the Kitchen, bathroom and even out into the garden. If you do plan on moving around a large area then you would need to consider how good your wireless network is. I use a pair of range extenders to allow a much larger range.

Good to begin with - but then it all went pear-shaped.
We bought this product as a friend had already bought it and recommended it as being excellent. And at first all was well, as it seemed to Amplify our Echo dot really well and we liked the portability or being able to take music anywhere in the house/garden.However, we soon noticed that Alexa could no longer hear anything we said.We had to be virtually hovering over the Echo dot while yelling "ALEXA!!" to get any response out of it - which got me way more annoyed than I thought it would. No-one likes to be ignored by a household appliance. Then we noticed that any added volume had disappeared and had actually got worse than when the Echo dot was amp free.It turned out that the EVO Amp'd had 'unpaired' itself from the Echo Dot and as it covers both the microphone and speaker, was now blocking all incoming and outgoing sound - which was why Alexa had suddenly gone deaf and quiet. We couldn't get it to reconnect, so just gave up.As soon as we disconnected the EVO Amp'd everything returned to normal.Alexa is no longer ignoring us like a stroppy teenager. We have normal volume and on the whole everything is working well. We don't have the portability of being able to take it into the garden but we do have an extension cable - which works. After speaking to my friend who made the initial recommendation - they said their EVO Amp'd had done exactly the same thing, so they just disconnected it too.I'd not recommend the EVO Amp'd - even though it did work well to begin with. Perhaps it needs a bit more development to troubleshoot some of the issues.

Was good, but the echo software has overtaken this Fremo EVO hardware
I am sure this was great, before Amazon launched grouped Echo synced speaker playback (multi-room). Since they have done so, this will become your default listen method if you have more than one Echo. Unfortunately you can't have an Echo dot outputting to a paired Bluetooth speaker (such as the Fremo EVO Amp'd) AND working in a group of other Echos at the same time. If you attempt to do so, the Echo dot will automatically drop the paired BT speaker :/ (in this case your Fremo EVO).Would be a neat product, but it has been overtaken by events. Not sure if I can still return mine, but I have had to now buy a different battery base speaker... One that connects to the Echo Dot aux input, and doesn't rely on Bluetooth.

Does as it says with ease
Impressed with the slick design of this product. Easy to put together and worked first time. I keep it plugged in all the time and managed to get rid of at least one power cord from my previous set up with a BT speaker. Lacks bass, but that was expected from the size. Looks very cool in place.

Fine whilst it worked
Arrived quickly and was easy to set up. However, within six weeks, it simply stopped working - it would not let the Amazon Echo Dot connect to wi-fi and the unit became unusable. Maybe just the one I had but I couldn't replace it as Amazon / the reseller had removed it from availability at the beginning of March so I had to return it for a refund. Purchased another make of Echo Dot speaker which was more expensive but, frankly, better.
