Like the book very much.Sam Alapathi is undoubtedly great.

I liked this book a lot. I took a month and half to read this book.I felt for my environment(We dont have RAC) its a day to day book to refer .I found a lot of really crucial basic stuff which could be the main root cause for many performance issues,often overlooked by Oracle DBAs.Not very deep but at a moderately deep level this book covered all the tools the DBA has to his disposal in order to resolve a performance tuning sceanrio.I recommend this book to all mid-level to experienced Oracle DBA professionals.One should read this book to begin with get all the basics in place and then take a leap into advanced performance tuning.

I can recommend both IT Professionals and those who are familiar with the Oracle technology. This is true projection the theory into practice.
