DonJoyIceman CLASSIC3 Cold Therapy Unit

I am due to have my right shoulder replaced in a few days. My surgeon recommended cold therapy after my surgery. They offered to sell me one for about $225, but I found the same thing on Amazon for about $40 less. I bought it ahead of the surgery so we could try it out prior to the surgery. Meanwhile, my shoulder is failing and giving me significant pain. Along with a Lidocaine 5% patch, Arthritis Strength Tylenol and Tramadol which only offers moderate relief. However, when I started using the DonJoy Iceman CLASSIC3 Cold Therapy Unit, the pain dramatically reduced. So much so that I could take less Tramadol.I am very please with this unit. It is slightly challenging to empty and refill, but doable. I also found that using 4 bottled waters frozen fit nicely inside the tank. Then I fill in the gaps with ice cubes from the freezer and fill fill it with water to the fill line. Using the frozen water bottles cuts the ice use down enough that our ice-maker can keep up.This is a great product! It works very well and helped to reduce my shoulder pain. I am confident that it will help a lot after my surgery rather than frozen gel packs or ice packs. It is not as cold as straight ice, but close so it is not as shocking as ice. Plus, it lasts a lot longer and an even cold temperature than gel packs or ice. And, it disconnects the the pad on my shoulder to the machine so it is easier to go to the bathroom or walk around for a few minutes. I just reconnect the water line back to the pad, plug in the machine and the relief is almost instant.This machine may cost a few bucks, but it is worth every penny of it for the pain relief it has given me. I highly recommend this product.

Worked great for post op shoulder surgery. Easy to use! Much more consistent cooling than ice bags and definitely more convenient!

I like no mess. I had knee replacement 3 weeks ago. It has been great, no freezing spots, just continued cooling. I use a pillow case to put between knee and cool wrap. I use about half cool water with a frozen 16oz bottle water, no ice cubes needed.The machine has hooks on side to put up tubes when not using. I use a power strip to cut it off and on, easy.Glad I bought it, I have another knee replacement in 6 months, will be using it more. Also can see using it when I do too much to calm a strained back or other aches and pains.

We paid $196.51 for this iceman including taxes. Loud noise and question the safety of the this machine. I returned this product and paid $ 27.00 for postage returning the iceman. They charged us around $98.25 for restocking fee. This was defective and a costly product. We bought one same name brand and a newer model from a local medical company for $150 and extremely quiet. I do not recommend buying from this company or this product. I lost $125.25 for returning this defective product which included the postage and restocking they charged me. Buy local and do not go through this company.

Reduced swelling

I ordered this machine for my dad as he is soon to have knee surgery and needs this. The machine was in the box and hose but no cold pad . I thought this came with one. It shows how to hook it up and the pad with it on the website
