Excellent read if your a fan of the Japanese otaku culture.
If you're up on Japanese otaku culture, and know what otaku means, you'll probably like this manga. It's a slice-of-life style story that details the protagonist's journey into the world of otaku via the Genshiken club as he moves throughout his years in college. The characters are fresh with diverse personalities and the art is excellent. The translation *seems* accurate and the English flows smoothly. Also, there are nice translation notes to help with some of the cultural differences. The binding is solid and it's easy to read this large omnibus.I can't wait for more. One of my favorite manga series!Lastly, this manga inspired an anime. There are two seasons published by Anime Works/Media Blasters. They are slow paced, but faithful and endearing.

Good collected edition
This omnibus contains the first three books in the Genshiken series of manga, a comedic slice-of-life series concerning a group of otaku in college.Although thick, this book holds itself together well enough. Single volumes may be more comfortable to read in some cases, but buying the three volumes included would end up being more expensive in most cases, and this collected edition is built well enough that one can read it without taking any special care to the condition of the book.

Loved getting into a new non-Shonen Jump series
Loved getting into a new non-Shonen Jump series. I've noticed that they took out Ohno's introduction chapter, but the novel is still a great comedy manga.

An Akward love story for akward people.
Strongly defined character based slice of life. With long term romantic and coming of age subplots. The main character although lovable is out played by his cast at every turn.I thoughly enjoyed this in both anime and manga form in my youth. So ignore my review and just look at all those high scores. Will read again.
