"Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, and a Sixpence for her Shoe." The tradition of gifting a sixpence to the bride dates back to the 1600's, when it was customary for the Lord of the Manor to give his bride a piece of silver as a gift. This was symbolically represented by a sixpence coin. It later became a tradition to include a sixpence in the dowry that was given by the bride's family to the groom. This tradition continues today as a wish for good luck and fortune for the bride and groom.

Perfect Sixpence!! Beautiful!
Came very quickly and is exactly as described. I wanted a specific year, but didn’t have enough time to order from a site that allowed one to choose the year. Against all odds, the beautiful coin I received was the year I wanted!! I couldn’t be more pleased (even if the year was different). This will make a beautiful presentation and I hope this coin will be handed down for future brides in her family. Absolutely perfect! Thank you!

The more good luck the better!
It was beautiful, and the card was not damaged or dirty. The year on the coin is the year my father was born & since he's no longer of this earth it's a beautiful way to honor him and have him 'walk with me' down the aisle ❤️

Coin is smaller than it appears.
The coin is smaller than it seemed in the picture. It's the size of a penny. Which is awesome considering you're supposed to have this thing in your shoe! It's beautiful though. Looks like a real coin. The card is printed on a nice linen cardstock.

KEEP THIS TRADITION ALIVE
I WAS MOTHER OF THE GROOM AND SO PURCHASED THIS FOR MY SON'S WIFE; SHE LOVED IT AND AT THE REHEARSAL DINNER WHEN I PRESENTED IT TO HER, HER OWN MOM, MOTHER OF THE BRIDE, HAD JUST TAUGHT HER THE RHYME THAT SAME MORNING BUT NO ONE HAD A 'LUCKY SIXPENCE' FOR HER SHOE - BUT YOU GUYS DID! THANK YOU!! THE WEDDING CEREMONY WAS LOVELY AND WE NOW HAVE A NEW TRADITION TO WHICH WE CAN LOOK FORWARD; WHO WILL BE THE NEXT BRIDE TO RECEIVE IT IN OUR FAMILY?

Great “Something New” Gift
Purchased as a wedding gift because I love the history of a “sixpence in your shoe,” and thought it would be a perfect heirloom to pass along to future children. If you aren’t familiar, do yourself a favor and look it up…it’s an inexpensive, but beautiful piece to add to your gift.

Great Something New
I bought this for my Daughter as her something new. I had one which her Grandmother gave me on my Wedding day, but since it was misplaced, it was wonderful to find this available. I love that it explained the significance of the Sixpence Tradition on the card it was attached to.

Nice keepsake
I ordered this to include in a bridal shower gift to my daughter. Her shower is in April/ Wedding is June 1st. I think she will appreciate it. She is sentimental and the card the coin comes in is elegant. This will be a nice little extra touch to my gift.

Love the tradition
When I married in 1970 a bank sent me one I used in my shoe. Unfortunately, I have lost it over the years and didn't have it to pass on to my daughters. Getting married in June for the Last Time 👈🤩 and I wanted to have one to put in my left shoe under my arch ( ordered one that had my birth year) that I will pass on to my two granddaughters to use if they decide to marry. If not, I will have a lovely keepsake with the card! I have heritage from the British isles which also makes it meaningful.
