FRONTEC LED Strip Light for 55 - 60 Inches TV USB Powered TV Backlighting Kit for TV Back Decor with 20 RGB Colors Changing Dimmable Remote

The media could not be loaded.  After reading an article about bias lighting reducing eye strain and improving TV contrast, I decided to give it a try for my home TV. I bought this one from Frontec and selected the 55-60 inch option for my 55 inch LG smart TV. Inside the box was a spool containing the LED string, 4 corner connectors, a USB power cord and some handy instructions, that were actually quite intelligible.Installation was easy, I unrolled the first section of the lights, but had to look closely for the junction as the lights are all connected on the roll, one of my vertical strips was first, then 2 horizontal (long strips), followed by the last vertical strip. The first strip off the roll had a power connector that I could plug the USB cord into (the LED lighting strip connector was round, the other end was your normal USB Type A connector.) I positioned the first vertical strip on the outside edge of the back of my TV nearest my TV's spare USB port for power and peeled off the strip of paper to expose the adhesive backing, and stuck it to the back of my TV. I then moved to the top of my TV to apply the first long horizontal LED light strip. My TV was only 55" so the strips just fit within the width of the TV, so I had to overlap the vertical and horizontal pieces in a couple spots. Aside from one of the adhesive covering strips splitting halfway thru pulling it off (so I had to pull from the other end) there were no issues sticking the strips to the TV. The corner connectors are thin and malleable, so I was able to put the end of one cord very close to the beginning of the next and use the connector's bendiness to bend them into a good shape to connect without being visible.After getting them all applied and connected, I plugged into the USB port, pulled the battery saver plastic piece out of the remote and switched it on. The first thing I did was try every color on the remote before settling on one of the blues. I then turned on the rotating color and took a video to share with you all.I really enjoyed watching TV with the bias lighting, it allowed me to still see my remotes and snacks without a harsh overhead light on, and I felt like the contrast of my TV was aided by the bias lighting.All in all, I am very pleased with this product. It was easy to install and works as advertised.

Out of the box it works great. Bright enough. Remote is decent, more than I'd expect for this price. The adhesive is decent also, but once you put it on, don't expect to be able to move it and have it work well twice. After one or two removals, the adhesion will be gone and you will have to use double sided mounting tape. I used the smallest size on my dual 27 inch tvs, which are used as PC monitors. I used the two smaller lengths down the outer sides of both tvs, and the longer lengths across the tops pf both tvs. I used one of the tvs usb ports for power, but I'm sure with a usb extension cord you could use a usb port off of your computer. The 'smooth' function is nice as it slowly fades through all the colors. Once you select your color or fade and brightness, it will stay on that setting even after being powered off. Nice set of LEDs so far.

Easy to install, takes 5 minutes. Plugs right into your tv with no issues. I've put in about 40 hours of use so far and it's still working fine. Perfect for adding ambiance to your games. Pop in Link's awakening and turn it to green or Doom and turn it to red it's awesome. Plenty of colors to choose from and has option to strobe, fade or smooth transitions. The lights don't show up with well if you have a lamp on near by. The controller feels cheap and doesn't work right unless you point it right at the strip.

**UPDATE** 13 June 2018:After posting my original review (below), I was contacted by Frontec's customer service department. They show genuine interest in the concerns presented in my review. I provided some solutions via email and they told me they value of the input and would get them to their engineering department for further improvements in the future.Frontec wouldn't settle until I resolution was met that would satisfy me. They show truly remarkable customer service and genuine interest and customers concerns. This is a type of company that I value, as I would believe most wood. I highly recommend if looking for an LED ambient lighting for your television, definitely go with this company! As stated in my original review, the product exact slant and works great minus the one defect that I identified. It doesn't take away from the product at all, it's just something that's there. Combine that with their customer service department, this is a product I can back %100.**ORIGINAL REVIEW**Works good, no performance issues. I was skeptical on how bright it was going to be, but it actually feels my living room with light. I don't use any of the special modes like the strobing effect or the fading effect. I use the green setting, and it reduces eye fatigue while watching TV at night. The reason for a 3 star review is because the transmitter for the LED strip is located on the very end and cannot be moved for better placement. In order for this to work correctly I'm now stuck with a transmitter protruding from the side of my TV which also allows the cables to be visible. It just looks weird and could have been manufactured better. (See pictures)Also, make sure you lay the strips out and hold them up to your TV so you know where they need to be placed before you actually peel the adhesive cover off. Know exactly where you're going to be placing transmitter.

Very nice, bright, and elegant looking lights. I recently replaced a wall mounted TV but wasn’t able to keep the old set of LED lights I had installed on the back of said television so I trusted the positive reviews and purchased this set and am extremely pleased with the product!They look so good going around the whole television. The lights I use to have only went down the left and right sides. Having LED’s in the top and bottom along with the sides really makes a huge positive difference.
