The plastic is not SUPER THICK or heavy duty
Cute for a key learning to count coins. The plastic is not SUPER THICK or heavy duty, but it is not as flimsy as clam shell packaging, like some suggested, it is just standard thin plastic (would break if you stomped on it, but it won't dent just from pushing on it).The coin counter is accurate if you give it a second to process in between coins. It flashes what coin was inserted (i.e. "0.10") and then gives running total ("1.10"), you need to wait until it gives both of those numbers before inserting another coin (just a second or two). If I inserted another coin before it gave running total, then the total got messed up.There IS a reset button on the bottom.

Very cute!
This bank is very cute. The count is accurate and it holds quite a bit of change. I wish that it was easier to put the money in the slot, but you have to put one coin at a time and push it in kind of hard. It did get a little easier the more I did it, but it's just time consuming if you have a lot of change to put in at one time. All in all though, I like it a lot, and can't wait to fill it up!

Don't waste your money
Don't waste your money. Cute and I love the concept. Too bad I don't know if it works since I want get the battery compartment opened. I got my first one this past weekend. Tried for an hour to get opened. Landed up stripping the screws. I did use a little screwdriver that was called for. Very disappointed. Thought maybe it was me. Ordered another one. Came today. Just spent 30 minutes trying to open. Still no luck. It is definitely not worth the frustration or aggravation.

Good idea, terrible execution
This is a great idea and a relatively cute product, but the quality is close to unacceptable. The pig portion is made from a thin, cheap plastic that feels like the kind used to make disposable clamshell packaging on other products, and the coin-counting mechanism is so cheap-looking that I was actually surprised when it worked - and that's why I gave this product two stars: it DOES work. However, I don't know what will happen once the battery runs out. Will the counter reset to 0? Because it would be ridiculous to have to take all the coins out and put them back in one-by-one.The biggest problem, however, was putting in the batteries. I used a tiny screwdriver to try and unscrew the cover on the battery compartment, but the cheap screw immediately got stripped - and I wasn't even trying that hard! I actually ended up having to use a steak knife to pry the cover off, which broke it, obviously, and I had to tape it back on after inserting the batteries. It works fine that way, and the battery pack is on the underside of the lid, so it didn't matter THAT much, but it's absolutely ludicrous to NEED to break a product to make it functional.Overall, this product is a good idea, but the execution is terrible.

My daughter was so excited when she opened this on ...
My daughter was so excited when she opened this on Christmas morning, then by December 27 it had stopped working. If I hit the reset button, the display shows 0.00, but it will no longer count coins. Sometimes it will count 0.01 or 0.05, but this does not correspond with the correct coin. I tried replacing the batteries, but it still won't work. Very disappointing.

Does the job
This piggy bank was bought so that it can keep a count of the content. It operates on two double AA batteries. I think it's based on it knowing the circumference of the coin which enables it to decide based on the stretch the coin size . It keeps count. Would be nice if led display is lit as it's hard to read in dark settings. The bank is made of thin plastic not hard which i felt was a low point.

Loving this pig!
I love this little piggy!! I work at a restaurant and get coins as part of my tips frequently and didn't want to dump them in a bowl where I would probably leave them to pile up for a long time. Seeing my money go up on the counter makes me more excited about it and I love knowing how much is in there. And it really is how much is in there because ***the pig counts right for every coin, every time***. It was easy to put it together and turn it on, and who doesn't love a piggy bank with that's actually shaped like a pig! I can't think of anything negative to say about this product!

Fun for the kids!
I bought this for my kids since we have all this loose change around. This thing isn’t half full and we have $100 already. I think it’s a good way for them to see how it really does add up. I took off a star because it seems a little flimsy like it may not hold up well. Also, the battery compartment has a teeny tiny philips head screw that was nearly impossible to open. Why? Why is this necessary?? Lol
