High Function in a Stylish and Compact Format
First, some context. I work in a big city and I will generally carpool or take a ferry boat. That means that I walk full city blocks, and wait in lines while carrying a bag and/or backpack. In the winter or rainy season, I'm also wearing a few layers of clothing to stay warm but also be flexible when traversing the many micro-climates in my part of the world (could easily be a 10-20 degree difference from point A to point B).I used to carry a large (50"+ canopy?) that folded down to a about 2ft. long. Not as long as a cane, but, too long to fit in a bag. There was really nothing wrong with it, but, it's amazing how awkward it can be messing with your commuter card or cash, your bag AND a big umbrella when it's raining and windy. This umbrella canopy is a little small, and yes, it's an odd shape (one side is smaller than the other) but, it does the job! It's also very stylish (I bought a blue one, but, there are many other colors and patterns to choose from). And most importantly, the thing is small and can fit inside my bag (when not wet), or I can clip it onto my bag strap so I have two free hands when making my way through my daily commute.Does it protect you from the rain? Yes.Will it invert when the wind is really howling? No! (it's quite awesome actually)Will it keep your body dry if you have to walk several city blocks during a downpour? Well, no. Only a good, long coat can really do that.Is it a little pricy? Well, yeah.Could you purchase a completely serviceable umbrella for less? Yes, but, you wouldn't look as good doing it! And really, other comparable umbrellas will run you at least $50-$60 easy (if not more). All that being said, this umbrella puts high end features into a stylish and compact format. I purchased the automatic version, and it sticks a bit at the bottom when opening it up (a little shake pushes right through), so I took off 1 star for that. I really think that an $80 umbrella should work perfectly. But, I love it. Oh, and they have a 2yr warranty.

Wonderful umbrella. Stands up against high winds
Wonderful umbrella. Stands up against high winds. Love the tear drop shape. I carries a backpack everyday and the extended portion of the umbrella covers part of the backpack as well. Even though only parts it's still better than a regular shape umbrella which leaves the entire backpack exposed. In terms of weight, it's identical to other umbrellas but I do feel that it's slightly lighter when compared with another umbrella of same size. The button position is a bit awkward as it faces the front (the way I hold the umbrella is to have the large surface facing front with narrow surface facing back), makes it a bit difficult to press. Maybe it takes some getting used to. Another thing is the pouch that came with it is not as durable. I only got the umbrella not too long ago and used it for a handful of times. There are velcos stitched to the pouch body to allow wider opening to make remove/insert of umbrella easier. Last time when I try to make the opening wider, a part of the velco got tore from the pouch body. Is the pouch still usable? Yes. Does it affect the pouch in any way? Not really because the velcos are there to make opening wider and narrower possible, but most pouches just have a wider opening any way. It's just a sort of a thorn in my mind that a brand new product already got damaged only after a handful of normal usage.

High quality umbrella - still just an automatic umbrella
For those trying to find an indestructible umbrella, I'm sorry to say they don't exist. This one is super high quality and well worth the price but it can still break if you aren't careful.I love the design on this one - the teardrop shape makes it easy to hold while walking in the rain or sun.

An excellent backpacking umbrella that won't flip inside out no matter what
I got this primarily for hiking in the 2,000C Arizona summer. It seems to be well made with quality components. The aerodynamic shape works well in wind (as advertised). If the wind shifts on you, simply twist the handle slightly and the umbrellas orients itself into the wind and behaves far better than a standard umbrella..I just took it backpacking where we were treated to thunderstorms with hail. My companions wore conventional rain gear and quickly overheated while I was dry and well-ventilated. I am never going back to the sweatsuits of traditional rain gear, no matter how dorky I look in the woods.

Great umbrella
Love these Umbrellas. My second one after my wife stole the other I purchased. She’s now my ex wife but the umbrella was not the deciding factor :)

Love the tear drop shape
Love the tear drop shape, does a great job of keeping my front and my back with backpack dry. However, its hardly durable. Dropped it once and it sprang open, but the velcro straps were on, so the handle shot out but the umbrella didn't deploy. Now I can't get it to close again. I'm a major tinkerer and was unable to fix it, so it went to the dumpster. Replaced it with a manual version, as I still love the shape.

Buy the full sized version
Turned inside out the first time I used it. The automatic open feature is cool and quite dramatic as is the auto collapse feature (you still have to push it fully closed as the auto close only pops the umbrella latch). Also in driving wind the umbrella compresses into your head as it sits on a spring due to it being automatic.Sent back and got the senz smart, which has proved brilliant and utterly wind proof, much to my smug satisfaction when walking to work watching everyone else get soaked as their umbrellas failed the moment the wind picked up.

Awesome
Awesome umbrella. Bought as a gift for my wife, and she loves it. Very sturdy and well constructed. Does what it says and withstands much more wind than any other umbrella I've come across. If you're curious about how well the opening and closing mechanism performs given the shape of the canopy, I can tell you that it works effortlessly. Small point that I like is that the case actually fits well and it's easy to put the umbrella back in once it's dry.
