Interesting and captivating story
Interesting and detailed story of Major Dorn's service in Vietnam, his progression through rank and the related challenges and incidents he encountered and overcame. Written with personal anecdotes and opinions strategically placed and related with candor and honesty. A very enjoyable read. Highly recommend!

Boring
Very uninteresting account of time in Vietnam. He failed to share real interaction between himself and those under his command.

Real life accounts from a real person not some dramatic story teller !
I work for USAA and I had the pleasure of speaking with major Dorn a few months back. I got the book because it seemed like some thing he was really passionate about, I wanted to support a veteran and I am really big into first accounts and history in general. If you’re looking for a violent book, this is not it but if you’re looking for a book that talks about someone who actually was there during a lot of violent times, this might just be your book. It’s also pretty motivational in a sense too. Thank you for your service and sharing your story with me.
