We wanted a nicer soap pump in our bathroom and this one fit a number of things we were looking for. First, we wanted to make sure it had rubber feet on it so that it wouldn't slide on the granite. Check. Second, we wanted it to be a bit weighted so it would stay in place. Check. And we wanted it to be easy to use and refill and be of a size that doesn't need to be refilled every other day. Check. I don't feel that the pump mechanism is cheap by any means - just loose, but not really a problem. The only complaint I have is that you can't see the soap rising as you're filling it, so sometimes you overfill it, but I don't fault the pump.
