used daily
love the price & product.less than 1 month in the screen pulled away from bottom metal band. As long as I make sure the mesh is touching the band no grounds escape.would totally buy again, I feel it's a fluke that my screen pulled away. I still use it daily!

Almost perfect
I've now ordered and received my second of these. It really does make cold-brewing coffee at home easy, and the resulting cup is delicious. I won't bother discussing the pros/cons of cold brew (there are plenty of other resources on the internet for that) however here are a few thoughts about the KolobCo brewer itself:Having used this nearly daily for months now, I can say that it works great, and has held up well. There is a little bit of separation that I can detect at a few of the seams, but nothing major enough to allow large grounds through. Even using a burr grinder for uniform grind size, this does allow a fair amount of silt-like fines through, so be aware of that. I just get in the habit of removing the filter, allowing the coffee to settle well, and then pouring from the original brew vessel to another container, leaving behind the last dregs, and that gets rid of most of the minimal sludge in the bottom. You could even leave them in if you like, though I'd suggest shaking the coffee concentrate well to distribute in that case. The one thing I will mention is that after now using/owning 2 of these, I cannot for the life of me get the included silicone ring to work. It has a slot that seems to allow it to be fitted around the rim of the filter so that there's silicone above and below, and when using it this way I am completely unable to get the metal lid of the mason jar to close, no matter how much pressure or torque I put on it. I've tried it on multiple wide mouth jars (to make sure that it wasn't just that one jar/lid combo), as well as using the standard metal lid AND a plastic lid that I purchased separately - none of them are able to close with the ring installed. I also tried putting the ring simply between the filter and the jar rim, but likewise cannot get the jar to close. That means that the silicone sealing ring is pretty much useless to me - ah well. I'll also note that the lid of the jar seals a little funny even without the ring, so there is a chance that the contents of the jar will leak out a touch if you invert or shake the jar while the filter is in. However it's minimal, and easily cleaned up, so I don't mind much considering the quality of coffee it makes, and the ease of use otherwise. Just be careful and aware if you go to shake or turn the jar upside down while the filter is in the jar ... you might make a little bit of a mess.If that was fixed, I'd happily give it 5 stars, all day long!If you're like me and drink iced coffee like others drink soda/juice (on and off all day long, no matter the weather or season), get yourself one - or two - of these, and eliminate your need to pay way too much at the coffee shop for subpar iced coffee (or even more for what they call cold brew), and do it yourself at home with your favorite bean blend!

Limited functionality
I'm going to be that odd duck that doesn't 5 star this, due to 2 reasons, the first I didn’t realize until after I got this filter and had buyer’s remorse when I realized I’m strictly limited to using just mason jars. However, even if I was content using only mason jars it still has (to me) a aggravating problem that nut-milk bags didn't saddle me with. Allow me to explain:First, the basic design is decent if using only mason jars to cold brew with, any other kind of container and this filter will bob like a cork and spill the grinds into the water defeating its purpose. Obviously its top loaded and dropped into a jar with the lip of the filter resting on the rim of a regular mouth mason jar. Note that it relies on the use of the jar's lid being present to prevent the grinds from spilling out. No lid and you got a problem. Now on to my gripe: Freshly ground quality coffee will foam more than mostly dead grocery store pre-ground coffee (this is called "bloom"). If you're a coffee snob such as I am, this is the kind of coffee that is your normal. With this filter, as you’re feeding water through the tube into the jar you will run into bloom and the grinds will rise swiftly to the top and if you’re not patient about drip feeding the water, you will quickly have a mess on your hands as overflow happens. My first attempt ran headlong into this, my 2nd attempt saw me standing there slowly drizzling water for 13 minutes (yes I timed it) before my 64 oz jar was fully loaded, I spend a lot less time doing that with a pour over hot brew. For making a cold brew that’s just too long standing there feeding water when compared to the simplicity and ease of a nut-milk bag. It's not a bad or poor design (that'd be a 1 or 2 star) but at best its IMO only worth 3 stars.Update: As someone who reviews a considerable amount of products I have to mention how very, VERY rare it is for a review to generate a comment from another owner of the same product within a 24 hour window. For other owners to be watchful of new reviews on a existing product is unusual, the reason being of course, one doesn't get a notification every time a new review is posted on a product you bought. You only get email alerts (if you flag yourself to get one of course) on comments from your own reviews. Unless you're a seller, then you get a alert for every review left, as a seller I get review alerts the moment they are approved by Amazon. To get not just one, but THREE comments from "other owners" within a 24 hour window, all of them down voting you is quite...interesting, and prompted me to update accordingly. Sometimes Becky & Mike, its better to not mobilize, for as you can tell, reviews can be updated.

This was the easiest I've ever made cold brew. Fill tube with your favorite coffee and add water. I let it sit overnight and wa La, GREATEST coffee ever.

Best coffee ever for someone who has been told to limit intake!
I have been using it daily since receiving it and LOVE the stronger but not acidic or bitter coffee produced by cold brewing. My only complaint is that the tin ring for the mason jar I use is now discoloured and leaving black marks in my sink where I leave it to steep upside down (to ensure the coffee ground don’t float) as directed overnight at the beginning of the 24 hour steep cycle. For this reason, I have now ordered but not yet received, a one piece stainless steel cap for a wide mouth mason jar that I am hoping will solve this problem. Might I suggest the inclusion of one of these SS lids with the strainer rather than the silicon sealer ring as I found that it was too thick to then allow the sealer ring to even grab the threads on the jar to screw on. But to end on a positive note, I LOVE this new coffee so much I have been persevering to try to solve my leakage problems. One further step I take is to strain the coffee, once steeped, into a fridge sized storage container through a Melita paper cone which removes all the fine powdery “sludge” that would otherwise end up in the bottom of your coffee cup!
