Easy to install and looks polished!
I decided to redo my mailbox and replace the generic cap that was previously on the post with this light, and I’m so glad I did! Elevates the look without replacing the existing post. It was very easy to install with the different bases (used the 4x4 vinyl base) and it fit like a glove. So far I am impressed with the amount of light it puts off. I’m out in the country with no street lights, and it makes spotting my driveway easier in the dark. I’ll likely add these on either side of my gates as well for a little extra visibility. I’ll get a better night time photo and add to this review!

Great looking lights, even greater customer service
I bought 5 of these wonderful looking lights but Unfortunately 2 stopped working and I talked to Lawrence from Davinci and he sent 2 new ones right on over. I would totally recommend.

Bulb cannot be replaced. Failed in less than three months.
First, I would like to state that I rarely rarely rarely write a review. The install was easy. Looks good. All metal and glass aside from the plastic base. The lighting is OK but we were only using them for driveway markers at the road so we did not need a lot of light. One out of the pair lasted less than three months. I was able to swap bulbs back and forth between the two units to determine it is a bulb issue. These are specialty bulbs that can't be purchased anywhere. I attempted to disassemble the bulb to try to repair and its impossible without breaking them as the acrylic glass is mended to the base. Some of this cheap stuff on amazon is worth it. This is not. Now this China made amazon POS will end up in a land fill and polluting the earth. If you need something like this, I recommend purchasing a similar product from Lowe's or Home Depot so you at least get a 1 year warranty.

Replace the AA rechargeable batteries immediately!
I purchased 4 of these for two gates. They seem to work well with one caveat; The included AA rechargeable batteries are garbage! Toss them immediately and get decent rechargeable batteries! After a couple of weeks the lights were going dim to completely out within about 4-5 hours. That's after a full day of daylight charging. As a process of elimination I removed the batteries and put them on a charger in the house for 8 hours, checked the voltage and then reinstalled them. Same thing. In fact, when I removed the batteries and again tested the voltage one of them showed zero voltage. None. Nada. The rest were well less than 1 volt, whereas fully charged they should be 1.5 volts plus. I replaced all four with Duracell rechargeable AA's and I'm getting 8 plus hours out of them, that's all of the darkness we have right now so they could very well be lasting even longer, I'll know more as the hours of darkness increase as we head into late fall/winter. I have yet to know how they will work when the winter/snow hits, but for now the new batteries made a 100% improvement!

The main light enclosure box is fine! The mounting plates are a bit of an issue!
My take on this post light is that everything except the mounting base is good. The light works well and bright compared to on I got at HD that when the light was on you couldn’t even tell. This one has an actual Edison type bulb that is visible and element is visible and puts out a respectable amount of light. The solar panel itself is of very good quality and size. The panel has an actual glass type covering vs the one from HD was plastic and the sun pretty much cooked it so then it didn’t work. So I like everything except the mounting plates and the attachment function to the main enclosure slots. You have to screw down the plate that says for 4” x 4” wooden post in my case. I screwed it down on my post and it really didn’t feel real secure and would move when you tried to see if it was secure. The next part was to take the main enclosure and match the slots on the enclosure with the plastic nubs on the plastic mounting plate. The plastic is very flimsy almost soft and when I mated the two things together and tried to twist to secure the enclosure to the mounting plate numb broke off so I tried again and 2 more broke off. The plastic makeup is more soft and flexible rather then a robust hard to bend or snap nubs off. The nubs to secure the plate to the main enclosure are very inferior material and lack design and strength consideration. I wanted to get this thing mounted and then deal with writing a review and contact the manufacturer. I decided to use my gorilla glue and twist the enclosure back onto the mounting plate with the gorilla glue in between the mounting plate and the main enclosure. You can see in my photos that I used 3 tiles to put pressure on the 2 items until it set up. So it’s mounted and works fine but the mounting plates leave something to be desired and very soft plastic that will not take any bit of twisting pressure. I would rather see a mounting plate like the one for 4” vinyl post where you can mate the enclosure and plate together then place the whole assembly on the post and screw the mounting plate to the post on the sides of the mounting plate flange. If the 4x4 wooden mounting plate was like that for the vinyl post I would raise the star rating one or two stars and if the plates were much stronger plastic or light metal I would put rating to 5 stars. The light for most part great. I don’t know the longevity of the bulb yet and any led bulb I have had barely lasts as long as an incandescent despite claims of 10,000 or more hours bulb life by the manufacturers. This one claims 100,000 hrs which I really doubt it would even come close to that from my experience with led light bulbs. So while I do recommend this light I gave lower star rating because I was not impressed with mount quality and procedures. It is a very nice looking light and the enclosure is metal and glass seems of good quality. I think I would still buy another one but I would want to get a better mount plate resolution and able to get extra plates from the manufacturer because of the very flimsy plastic. If you like the looks of the light, I would get some clear Gorilla glue and just put it down liberally all over the mounting plate and then attach the light to the base and put some weight on top of the light until the glue sets up.

Lovely
Fits 6” post. They only get 3-4 hours of direct sunlight and that’s enough to last all night. Main light is metal , the baseplates are plastic but well made . I recommend. We shall see how they last over the winter snow and ice. Will update in the spring .

Good housing, terrible bulbs
The unit is easy to install, looks good and the housing holds up quite well over time. However the bulbs used are terrible. I have had 2 fail in less then a year and the only way to fix it is to replace the entire unit. This doesn't have to be the case since the bulb itself it actually easy to replace HOWEVER said bulb is a proprietary design and they are not available from Davinci Lighting or anywhere else. This would easily be a 4 or 5 star review if they just offered the bulbs for sale.

Me gustaria que pusieran a la venta los focos o que me manden gratis mi foco. Por favor
