The product did what it's supposed to do, communicate with the vehicle. I have a 2006 mini cooper R53 so i realized after buying the cord that pins 7 and 8 needed to be soldered to communicate with a R53 Mini. Had i known that i would've gotten one with a switch ! But that was my fault not the seller. I used with my own software on a Dell inspiron Win 7 os laptop.

Works great on bmw e90 2011 328i xDrive. Used it to code and diagnose a few things. Make sure you follow instructions on online forums to set up the cable properly. There are several steps that must be completed before it works

I have a 08 335i and the product did not work, would light up for a second then just turn off! Never showed up connected on MHD either
