A great mattress
I'm always doubtful with buying a new mattress without testing it first. But, took my chance with this one and glad I did.Delivery was fantastic. It came, men brought it into the room, opened it up, and took all the trash away. Bed started lifting up immediately. Within 8 hours the bed was fully inflated and at 14". Noticed a bit of a smell when the bag was first opened but, it didn't last and mattress didn't stink like it at all.I was worried I would have to put our topper on it if it was too hard. It wasn't hard at all! Was firm but not super firm. Soft but not super soft. Perfect. So, no topper on it at all.First night of sleep. My spouse is a back sleeper. Woke up the next morning with no hip pain at all. The same with the second and third night of sleeping.I am a side and stomach sleeper. No issues hip or back pain. No shoulder hurting when laying on it for long periods. In fact, I wake up, during the night, in the same position I fell asleep in and I'm not uncomfortable. The edge around the bed doesn't feel too supported. So it feels like the edge gives in too much. Just something different than our old mattress. I just know to boost myself up just a bit more and I'm fully supported. Because it's been a few days now, I don't even notice it.I do also have to note that this mattress is up on a box spring. So, it sits higher. A LOT higher. You can have this mattress on a nice supported base and not have any issues at all. Again, this is our choice and not everyones. The mattress is well worth the cost. And the cost really isn't that high compared to other brands out there. Even if this mattress only lasts 5-6 yrs, it's still well worth the cost when it's time to replace it.And when we do have to replace, I will look into another Zinus mattress.Waking up so sore and achy for about 2 yrs now, it is so nice waking up and not feeling that back and hip pains we used to feel. Also, the mattress is heavy! My spouse is a larger person. They would shift our old mattress when they'd be sliding into bed. This mattress doesn't move at all!

So far so good
We received this mattress about a week ago and so far so good. I had tried the sealy posturepedic hybrid high point firm and didn't like it, it was too soft and dippy, I couldn't move around in it without a struggle and I actually threw my back out changing positions. I tried the Serta iseries hybrid 2000 firm and didn't like it, too dippy, like it was firm but too soft to try to change positions in. The zinus mattress was recommended by my chiropractor, he likes just the memory foam one, but I am older and have a sleep partner so we went with this hybrid. We ordered the 12" because that is the medium firm. It feels a little too firm for us so we have a mattress topper that we put on it. It may get softer as we use it. I would rather be too firm at first than too soft. The 14" is supposed to be the softest one if anyone needs to know that, with the 10" being the firmest. I like this mattress a lot better than those other 2 that I mentioned. It is firm enough that I can change positions easlily yet soft enough to be comfortable once in postion. I was concerned about a bed in a box, but to save about 2,000 dollars and actually be comfortable sounds good to me! This mattress seems very well constructed, it fluffed up quickly, very slight smell that went away quickly. My husband is sensitive to chemical smells so I am so glad that this doesn't bother him. Overall it is a keeper. I would like to update this message in a few months. Also, we oreded the "older" version because the "new" version wasn't available. I contacted Zinus and they told me that the only difference between the two is how they are packaged. The product is the same, just the new version is a smaller package.

Amazing and comfortable Mattress for the price- Just a few important things to know for ordering online
Awesome mattress but definitely pay attention to the heights of the mattress and READ everything including a bunch of reviews before purchasing!I had a spring mattress and was in search of a new mattress at an affordable price. I went into a bunch of mattress stores to test out different mattresses. I hate all memory foam mattresses but was surprised that the cool gel hybrid mattresses which included layers of foam and spring coils I knew that was what I wanted. I fell in love with the Leesa Mattress but could not afford the $1000 price tag. I did a ton of research on an affordable mattress like the Leesa and kept stumbling across this mattress over and over again. I was nervous about ordering a mattress online without trying it but skimmed a few reviews and decided to go for it anyway because of the amazing price. When i saw the comparison to the leesa it was actually for the 12 inch zinus mattress. I searched for the zinus mattress in the Amazon app on my phone and found it but it came up as 10 inch. I didn't realize that the height of the mattress determines the firmness. The 10 inch is the hardest mattress, the 12 inch is a medium firmness and the 14 inch is the softest. My husband measured our box spring mattress at 10 inch and thought the 12 or 14 would be too tall with our platform bed so ordered the 10 inch. The 10 inch for this mattress is about the same firmness as the 8 inch Casper mattress we tested out at a sleep number store. (If you want to test out a mattress in a sleep number store to get an idea of which level if firmness you like best! I think the 10 inch Casper is probably around the same firmness as the 12 inch Zinus).I definitely don't like a mattress that's too hard but can't sleep on one that's too soft either. The 10 inch was too firm for us with our Ikea brimnes storage bed using bed slats. We put the 10 inch in a guest room on the zinus platform bed frame which is a little more comfortable and now have the 12 inch our bed which is just the right level of firmness and is extremely comfortable with our Ikea bed! So if you have a platform bed and are using bed slats definitely go with the 12 inch! The biggest downside of the cheaper price is delivery. Ordering from a mattress store and having a bed delivered the mattress is usually brought in the house for you by the delivery people. The box from Amazon was left in the middle of our driveway when we were at work. The mattress is rolled up inside a very long and heavy box. My husband had to call a friend over to help him be able to pick up the box and get it into the house. Once we had it inside and opened it was completely ready to go in less than 2 hours so we were able to sleep on it that night! When we ordered the second 12 inch I had it delivered on a weekend when I knew my husband would be home. My husband and the delivery guy carried the box into the house together. I think its definitely worth the cheaper price because it seems like a really amazing good quality mattress! Just make sure you figure out delivery and getting the box inside the house ahead of time. My husband and I couldn't carry the box inside by ourselves. Its definitely VERY heavy. I couldn't imagine having to carry it up stairs in an apartment building or being able to get it inside if I lived alone! Overall still would absolutely order the 12 inch again. Our friend who has a Leesa mattress told me "This is just as comfortable as ours. We should have saved the $700 and gotten this one instead!" Thanks for a great product Zinus! (Ps I had a question so went on the Zinus website directly and called Zinus customer service directly and they were amazing! So even though you are ordering from Amazon the company is easy to reach and extremely helpful if you need to contact them with any questions or problems!)

Excellent mattress, really impressed!
I read review, after review trying to decide on a new mattress and after settling on the Zinus 12inch gel infused memory foam hybrid. The gel infusion promotes a cooler sleep (for those like myself that become furnaces at night), and the material that wicks moisture to pull away humidity or sweat if you do happen to get to warm so you don’t wake up drenched. So far, and it’s been a humid hell’s front porch here in July.. I’ve never woken up too warm. I also loved the hybrid features of the memory foam with the iCoil pocketed coils which give the flexibility to accommodate both side and back sleepers. I was pretty impressed with what I got.Everywhere I turned, I saw warnings that even after the 24-72 hours of letting it rest and ventilate that there would still be a chemical smell and it doesn’t fully decompress to inflate to its full 12 inch form as advertised, but I tell ya.. that was SO NOT my experience.Delivery: so caught the tail end of the Prime Day deals when I purchased this mattress and the 18 inch smart frame. All were expected to arrive the Monday and I was thrilled so see everything had been delivered to my door step Friday morning which worked perfectly for me!!!First of all, the compact box is heavier than you’d expect so if your bedrooms are not on the main floor where it’s delivered, plan to have a helping hand so that you’re not straining yourself. There is a very large mattress compressed into a tiny little box - keep that in mind! lolUnpacking it was super easy. Cut the tape, completely unfold/rip open the box, it’s packed tight, sliding it out wasn’t so easy for me. Use scissors to cut the compacted plastic cylinder not a knife of box cutters to prevent damage to the mattress, and pick an open place to up pack it because once you free the beast of its chains, it WILL start to unfurl quickly. The mattress itself is also in a vacuumed bag, so you’ll need to carefully cut that off as well for the decompression process to start. I don’t know if it was the heat in my area, or what.. But within an hour that mattress was at full height - I know.. I measured!! LolThe chemical/heated plastic scent (which I’d assume is from its packing and shipping process, dissipated completely after a couple hours of it sitting in the bedroom with the window open and fan on. I spritzed it with some fabric refresher anyway right before I made the bed as an added scent booster. The sleep.. True to reviews I’ve read.. It is firmer than you’d expect from a memory foam. So if you’re not one who likes how soft memory foam is, this may be a perfect alternative. It’s firm enough to make adjusting and moving easy, soft enough to cradle you lightly once you’re in position. It’s silent and you really don’t feel motion transfer very much, if at all. I have my boyfriend and the dog in bed with me most nights and if it weren’t for the dog deciding to lay on me or blankets, I wouldn’t even know he got in bed us or either of them move.Overall a great price for a great product. I will definitely buy from Zinus again. Speedy delivery, great overall product. I would recommend this to anyone who is in need of a new bed but doesn’t want to break the bank! Thank you Zinus!!!!

best in sub-2k price range
I was in the market for a king mattress for the last 3 months. I am a side & front (very) hot sleeper with shoulder pain for the last 3 years. My 2K queen mattress that I bought from sleepcountry 2 years ago didn't help much, but aggrevated the pain further. Initially, I thought it was my pillows causing the pain and I replaced them with several expensive pillows but that didn't resolve the issue either. With all this background, this time I wanted to be careful. I went to many mattress shops, checked lot of brands myself. I have also done a lot of online research and went through several forums and read so many reviews and finally ordered the bear hybrid mattress from US for about 1600 bucks. Fortunately, that was sent back to the company from the customs due to some paperwork issues (this is what the bear customer service told me). After 2 weeks they told me that they would reinitiate the dispatch. But I lost my patience and canceled the order. Then I went back to square one. So continued my research, then I realized most of these reviews are paid. I started looking into redflagdeals & reddit reviews and learned that - either go for an expensive one that cost you 2500+ or stick to a good basic one. The other problem with online purchases is, it's not easy to ship them back if you don't like. So I decided to stick to a <1000 CAD mattress and started looking at amazon products. I bought one 6-7 years ago when I was living in US, so I know they are not bad. They may not be super comfortable, but they are not bad as well. The most important thing is the availability of buyer's reviews, most of them are genuine. When I read the reviews, I focus most on 4 and 3-star reviews. you find most of the "real" problems there. 5-star reviews are anyway good reviews, and most of the 1 and 2-star reviews are either from people who always complain or who got a lemon. So I carefully read all the reviews for this mattress and noted the points relevant to my case. finally after 2 weeks when the price was around 400+, I order mine. It arrived in 1 week which I consider good. packaging was solid, instruction booklet was useful, thought straight forward. Though it took only 30 mins to 95% inflate, I left it like that for 3 days for that slight odor to go and also I want to let it inflate 100%. so it's been 3 weeks since I started sleeping on it, and I won't say it's the most comfortable mattress in the world but it's better than my 2K queen mattress. My shoulder pain has come down drastically (about 60-70%), though I am not sure how it is going to hold in the long term. It's medium-firm, no hot issues (maybe because I have a lot of space to roll), never felt uncomfortable. So far so good.So my suggestion, if you are looking for a mattress in a <2000 price range, go for this. No matter what, you won't regret. They are all almost the same with +/- 5% comfort level. So if you want the best go for 3k+ mattresses. You can't get much better than this in sub-2K price range as per my experience.

Wow it's so HEAVY!!!
I had no idea mattresses could be so HEAVY. I have an old IKEA sultan mattress (discontinued now) that is larger size and is also a hybrid (springs and foam), that IKEA one is easy to move for one person. This new Zinus mattress you need at least two people to move. It's very bouncy and seems comfortable. It smelled at first but after 48 hours airing out, the chemical smell is mostly gone. Seems okay for the price, we'll see how long it lasts. The IKEA sultan mattress was actually good for over 10 years.

Fantastic bed, especially for the price.
Can a bed this cheap be any good? Amazing, yes. I bought this mattress to replace the mattress in my RV. Ad said a couple weeks for delivery. It came in mere days. The delivery box is large, and fairly heavy. I chose to open it on my deck. The mattress started expanding immediately on unrolling. I opened the ends and left. When I got back to it in about an hour it was fully expanded. Some folks have complained about these beds not fully expanding. I suggest this may be because the mattress was left compressed too long. This was definitely not the case with my mattress. Some people have also complained about odours, which is why I opened it on my deck. The smell is earthy and not overly chemical. I let the bed sit on the deck in its plastic with the ends open from Friday, when it arrived, until Sunday afternoon when I put the bed in the camper.I slept on the bed Sunday night. You could still smell the odour from the bed if you stuck your nose in it, but it was not in any way overwhelming. The mattress is firm and comfortable either on my side or back. I am a large man, 6'3" and about 285 lbs and feel well supported. I had a 2" memory foam mattress topper on the old bed. It is not needed with this mattress, however I am using a thin quitted topper. I woke well rested, with no soreness. I'm impressed. Will it last? That I don't know, but it does have a 10 year warranty. Compared to the price of name brand bed-in-a-box mattresses, it's a bargain. I am very happy with my decision to take a risk on This Zinus hybrid mattress.
