easy to find
I had to connect a Cintiq 22HD to a new Touchbar MacBook Pro 15. There are adapters for DVI-D to Apple Mini Display port, easy to find, but adding one more adapter for mini-display to USB C don't work. If you don't need an Ethernet port, this simpler adapter will let you use your older Cintiq with your newer laptop, taking up only one USB C port, since the USB 3 slot also accommodates the Cintiq's USB 2 connector.

Useless
DVI output does not work at all with 12" Early 2015 Retina MacBook. OS X will not detect the display. The USB 3.0 port and USB Type C passthrough work fine, but the only reason I ordered this was to connect my MacBook to an external display. Spent several hours troubleshooting today, reset NVRAM and SMC to no avail. Useless.

Works great with the new usb-c laden MacBook pros.
I have a 2018 Macbook pro 15" and a 22hd Cintiq from a few years back. This adapter accepts the DVI and the usb from the Cintiq as well as my power cord.

I'm not sure "why" but this gadget spontaneously "ejects" the hard drives attached via a hub, on the USB portion of the hub. I checked all connections and yet it still does this. Otherwise, when it's not ejecting my HDs, it works. Inconsistently, but it works.

Bought this to use with 2016 12" Macbook. My connected external monitor is flickering NON-STOP. I checked all the connections, display settings, and Installed all updates for my computer. It still did not work. I reset the SMC as well to no avail.Cynergy... tell me how to make it work!
