Madden NFL 23 – PlayStation 5

Easily the best and most polished version of madden to date. I have not noticed any of the bugs that others have noticed, though I don’t doubt that they are out there, and I am sure EA Tiburon will work out the minor kinks within an update or two, but as far as gameplay, animations, graphics, etc. it is easily the best Madden I have ever played (and I have played them all). One thing I would suggest is turning the interception gameplay sliders way, way down. When I first installed the game and I was slow simming CPU vs CPU, there were something like 5-10 interceptions per game, which is insane. I dropped the interception sliders down to “30“ instead of the default “50,” and that balanced them out to only 1-3 interceptions per game, which is far more realistic. Other than that I’d have to say it’s well worth the money this year.**************** UPDATE: 10/7/22 **************With the latest updates, they fixed the interceptions occurring too frequently, however, fumbles still occur way too frequently. Even with a running back who has “99 Carry,” he still fumbles twice a game, which is just silly. So now the interception sliders can be returned to their default of 50, but fumble sluders have to be turned down.Even so, I continue to be ridiculously impressed by this game. I actually read an article recently that said they added something like 3500 more animations than were in last year’s game, and every single time I play it I notice new ones. Everything from new tipped pass animations, to new pancake block animations, to new tackles, and some SPECTACULAR catching animations (AJ Brown does some really wild, jumping one-handed catches that are so cool to watch), I’m just blown away by this game this year!

Update 8/26 22 after receiving game last Friday I finally received my code on Tues & everything was thereSo im finally keeping my word of updating my review the game is good & a must buy one of better maddens in awhile...Thank you amazonI pre ordered this on June 4th 2022 & received the game on release day yesterdayThose who pre order are supposed to receive a code via email from Amazon granting you the All Madden Gear,Madden Strategy Item & An 83 over fantasy pack letting you choose 1 player on offense & DefenseContacted EA they told me Amazon is supposed to provide the code Amazon support claims EA is supposed to provide it to me..However since I ordered from Amazon EA has confirmed Amazon is the one who is supposed to send them ourI'm tired of the run around I just want the extra content I paid for..24 hours later Still haven't received my pre order bonus codeI never had this much issues with Amazon before its like nobody knows what going on & are clueless...So I'm giving low star ratings hoping Amazon will do me & others rightThe game itself is 5 stars as its very good I'd recommend buyingThat said the 1 star is for Amazon poor customer service regarding the pre order bonus this is totally unacceptable & im not the only one who has been screwed over by Amazon..I will gladly revisit & update this review if Amazon provides me my pre order bonus thank you...

First off, the last Madden game I ever played was on a Super Nintendo in the 90s. I have not played a madden game since and once I was able to get a PS5 one of the games I wanted to try was the newest Madden. From what I heard, it was a improvement over 22 (which I never played). My wife and I played this game so many times and we enjoy it. It is really fun! BUT! The bugs when they show up, it is noticeable. This is a list of few bugs that have happened to us..1. Character models will just vanish but the commentator can still be heard. (just give it a minute.. they will come back)2. You might score a clear touchdown and the game freezes and it's like it never happened. (Pretty much had to repeat the same play.. it was frustrating)3. Characters won't run the ball once they catch it (could be a controller issue, but never had a problem with my controller with any other games.)These are just a few problems we encountered, but overall it is a fun time.Note to self though. If you play against your spouse, don't celebrate too hard. "Yay for you... you won!.... now you have to sleep on the couch"!
