Clean Step MatRunner Water Absorbing Non Slip Floor Door Mat (24" X 60")- Tan

I've only had this for a few days and it's been dry so it's not been out to the test yet. Followed the directions to wash it without detergent or fabric softener before first use then dry it on low or no heat. That part made a huge mess in the dryer. Yuck! Sort of trashy looking black gunk everywhere. Had to vacuum out the dryer before using it again so I will def hang dry it in the future. It's a great size for us and our 5 dogs ranging from 10 to 50 lbs. the. The big dogs actually take several steps on it when they come in before they hit the floor so it's def better than the towels we used to throw down when it was raining. For some reason it's a game for them to leap over the towels, crazy animals! My only big complaint is that it's not so great looking. I def need it to be functional, that's more important but the description said it was tan. I say it's more chocolate with a few very light colored threads. I'm sure that changing it to be more aesthetically pleasing may decrease the efficacy of the runner but I'd think they could lighten it up or offer more pleasing colors. It's laying on porcelain tile and we having had problems with it slipping. I am hopeful so far!

I have been purchasing Clean Step Mat Runners for many years. With three dogs they were perfect.Then last year I placed another order for two more runners. I followed the care instructions to the letter, just as I had done in the past. By the second washing I started to notice small cracks in the rubber backing. Needless to say, the cracks got much worse and the rubber coating was filling my dryer filter and pieces were breaking off and I had to pick pieces of rubber from the dryer drum. They became unusable because any moisture would go through to my wood floors.I threw those out and ordered them again thinking I just got a bad lot. The same thing happened again.I was at Costco and they had a demonstration of some rugs with the same claims as the Clean Step. The difference was that it lives up to all of its claims. We have had them for several months and have put them through the same riggers. They are still like new. They are the MIRACLE DOOR MAT. They are more expensive but worth ever cent.Don't waste your money on Clean Step mats.

.... but if your picky about looks you'll be unhappy with that aspect because it looks like a remnant. We have 3 dogs and am happy my kitchen floor is so much cleaner after it rains because my back yard is a mud field!! So far all I have done is taken it outside and shaken it out a couple of times. I didn't wash it before I first used it, as I read to do, but did give it a good shake outside before laying it down. It does curl on the end but straightens out after a couple of days. I don't have a big problem with shedding as I have read some complain about. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is just because of the looks and lack of color choice.

My back door swings for dogs (through the dog door) cats, and children on a REGULAR basis. I have indoor outdoor carpet on the porch leading to the door. There is ALWAYS mud being tracked into my house. I had a small mat of this same design in front of the door but had to put towels down along with it to protect my kitchen floor.Since putting this mat down (came in two 12" pieces instead of one 24") the mud in my kitchen has seriously decreased. There are still damp dog tracks with a little dirt in them on a regular basis but nothing compared to what it was like before. They get dirty at my house pretty quick too so they require washing at least once a month. If they soaked up ALL the water from the dog's feet they would get 5 stars from me.

I bought a small "Turtle Mat" in the U.K. on our last visit and brought it back with us as I knew they're not available in the States. I wished I'd bought a larger one, but weight and size didn't allow in my suitcase, so I was very glad to find this one on Amazon. It's much thicker, but isn't a million miles away in colour to the Turtle Mat, and fitted our motorhome steps well.Didn't have any instructions to wash before use as others have reviewed. I would have washed it if that were the case.It does help keep dirt and wet down, so I'm giving it 3 stars for that, but I'm very disappointed with the backing which, after a couple of months use is perishing and shedding black rubber terribly. Had the other mat much longer and no shedding at all. If I had my time again I'd somehow bring the real deal back with me. This is a poor relation.

Gets the wet and mud off the dogs' feet when they come in from tge yard.

I saw this advertised that you could just walk over it and you wouldn’t track mud or dirt on your floor. That isn’t completely the case. You need to wipe a little more than that. Our dog is our biggest problem and I need to get her to walk a little on it or she still tracks up the floor. It works well for us if we wipe our feet or walk on it a few times. Good product, but not quite great!

Ok, I saw them demonstrated at a Home and Garden Show locally and didn't buy even though I was impressed with the demo as they were asking 100 dollars for just one of this size, When I saw them here on Amazon for a lot less and getting two of them I purchased two. They really work on the dog. We got a big 100 pounder and living in Oregon and the rain our dog goes in and out of the house all the time and plays in the rain and mud. When she comes in she walks over the two long mats ( as it takes two mats to catch all four paws when she comes bounding in the door) and then no more muddy paw prints on our carpet. I'm so impressed with these mats I'm ordering two for our travel trailer and two more to give my mom for her dog.
