The media could not be loaded. The sleeves work really well. Some people have said they don't secure well at all but I don't think they are actually clicking the 2 pieces closed. They are very difficult to pry apart once you close them. Only downside is the cheap foam filter on top. I added some micropore tape on top of the filter and it works fine.

Not what I expected
I wasn't really impressed with the quality of this product. I'm fairly new to mushroom cultivation so I was really excited to try these rings out but when I got them they were subpar in my opinion. They are super small and flimsy I'm not even sure what the filter is made out of and there were no instructions whatsoever. Save your money for some better options that are out there.

Pic is what it is.
I haven’t yet got to PC these….but I will say that they are nice and thick…….they feel super solid.Exactly what I wanted for the tek I’d like to try.

Just the cap
I saw the word bag and saw the picture so I thought it would come with a bag as well, but it’s literally just caps.

Can't Wait To See How These Work!
I am a newbie to home-grown mushrooms. I grew a few different mushrooms last Winter with mixed results....some of which stemmed from the mycelium trying to fruit inside the bag instead of where I put the hole. I really like this idea as it takes care of 2 issues...sealing the opening, and having a hole that works for both air exchange and fruiting.Looking at these I think this may be a good option. I'll be starting my first batch in about a month (right now I'm processing the last of 60lbs of Winecaps I grew in my garden!) so I'll come back with updates and photos as things progress. Time to get out the Martha Tent and order mycelium!

Great addition to your mushroom growing operation
It came well packaged in a thick resealable bag. We love mushrooms and eat them every day in a variety of different meals, so my husband has been really excited for us to start growing them ourselves. We started by saving our coffee grounds for a few weeks to use as a growing medium, in anticipation of growing some mushrooms. Then we had to buy some bags to get started, and saw these, not realizing that these are just caps that come in this kit. I know it’s clear in the listing but, what can I say, I am not very observant sometimes. Anyway, after pasteurizing the grounds and adding sawdust (the coffee grounds can compact too much otherwise) the mixture is ready to add culture. We have 6 mil bags that are 20" x 8" x 5”. The cap was a little challenging to fit on, I think due to the thickness of the bag, but stayed in place fairly well once attached. At this time, it’s too early to tell how well it works but I am very excited and optimistic. If it works the way I expect, then this will make a huge difference for us.Growing your own food has a lot of advantages, you know where it came from, you know that nothing has been added to it, I think it’s generally healthier, and you have a profound feeling of accomplishment. And for us, we won't have "we need more mushrooms" as a reason to have to run to town. All in all, I would definitely recommend.

I love growing my own food and that includes mushrooms!
There is a company I purchase clean mushroom culture in a syringe so that after preparing my bags of growing substrate while using these caps/rings. Once the bags have been in the hot water bath (to sterilize the growing medium) and cooled down sufficiently, I inject the culture into the bags, set the bags in an insulated container to hold them upright, keep them in a warm and stable temperature until the mycelium runs through the medium and is ready to begin fruiting. The bag culture of my edible mushrooms is easier with the use of these caps/rings. Prior, I was using Mason jars which are okay, but I much prefer the bag culture and with the caps/rings, that makes this culture easier for me.

Seems to work well
These little grow bag caps seem to work pretty well. It's a bit awkward getting the outer ring to seat fully on some materials (6mil bags) but once they are set, they appear to hold seal.Rings withstood pressure cooking without issue, you may want to cover the top with foil to keep contam out while the filter is wet. I will report back after the first batch of spawn starts to colonize to outline any contam issues.
