The Coming: For MYFAROG

Fantastic addition to, and new setting for, MYFAROG.

Wonderful setting for the fantastic MYFAROG system extremely well written, a great change of pace when you want to mix some current world spin into game night.

As a game system supplement, the mechanics of it, The Coming is pretty solid. It is in the causes of the apocalypse and the story of the surviving and causal organizations that I find to be a bit too cliche. It is also a hodgepodge of multiple cliches, the only ones missing are computer systems AI taking over and an android revolt.One causal agent on the apocalypse, with several byproducts is generally enough. However, Varg has always encouraged the Myth Masters and players to add or omitt what they wish to, to make the gaming experience fun.For the game mechanics alone, I recommend this booklet.

This is a supplement book for MYFAROG which is almost pocket-sized like the rest of the supplements. As someone who's wanted this supplement for so long since it's sell-out last fall, this is worth buying! It feels almost like the The One Ring setting but in the system of MYFAROG. This Supplement allows you to generate Flaws which some Game Masters like to give to players to make it more realistic. Speaking of realism, you also have access to Firearms ranging from handgun revolvers to DP-28 machine guns. There is also critical hit tables and horrible critical hits in this. You can generate horror campaigns, STALKER campaigns and the like. I myself have created a DOOM setting using The Coming and I must say The Coming makes it so much better. You also have access to newer character roles/classes, more equipment options, in short, this supplement allows you to run the mechanics of MYFAROG with more modern settings. Although this game was designed to be played in the world of Thule, but I sincerely think this has opened a whole new spectrum to this game. There are current groups out there like The Illuminati or ISIS/Al Qaeda, in the booklet so if you're really feeling up for it, you can base a campaign in slaying ISIS/Al Qaeda for good. Although there are somethings in here that relate to Muslims, as a Muslim myself, this isn't, in any case racism or anything or that sort like some other reviews will entail -It's called Mythic Fantasy Roleplaying Game for a reason, it's not really and the rules are quite modular too. It's in there but you don't need to include it.Do I recommend this to MYFAROG players? Yes I do, I think it's definitely worth picking up and playing and even if you don't like it, you're not exactly breaking the bank for this, unlike the old version of The Coming.

What a great supplement. I've tried to home-brew a post apocalyptic setting and using D&D rules for it but it never felt smooth and always seemed like it lacked something. But here was my answer, just what I've always wanted, post apocalyptic and realism style mechanics. Me and my friends absolutely loved this. Definitely worth a try if you like the idea of the setting and want a challenge. Again very good value for money.

This expansion of MYFAROG is not just a nice addition to the game it's a complete overhaul of all the mechanics and flavouring. Vikernes takes the Game Master/Myth Master and the players on a what-if scenario of a modern civilisational collapse in a stunning and vivid imagining of a post-apocalyptic setting. In it rules have been added for radiation, gunfire (including mechanics for fumbling, jamming and bullet wounds), survivalism and many more. If you are a fan of STALKER, Fallout or The Division then you'll love The Coming.Initially designed as a pedagogical (teaching) tool for homeschooled children this doubles up as a mental training excercise for people of all ages. If you have any prepping inclinations, fascination with global conspiracy & political intrigue, or are just a tabletop fan I highly recommend picking up this gem.
