Short and Sweet
Why I wanted to change my antenna in the first place-i don’t want an AM/FM antenna at all. I listen to XM Radio exclusively. (For over 20 years. They named a satellite after me. JK but still)On my pickups and large SUVs I have just simply removed the antenna. Because they screwed on with the bolt in the mount, not the mast, there was no potential for damage or corrosion. On my current vehicle, if I removed the antenna mast that was there, it would leave a bolt hole in the mount, which could leak or corrode. But I did not want a 9” thing sticking up.So I had a great idea-put a tiny one on and it almost disappears. (And does actually still receive radio* gosh forbid I needed to listen). This is perfect! Nice that it comes with all the adapter bolts and gaskets. It truly is a universal kit for any vehicle. This might seem like a silly detail since you throw it away, but the packaging was high quality. The presentation was as if it came off a retail shelf (it could). That level of consideration tells me the manufacturer doesn’t skimp on quality. This one was not the typical “white box” or clear plastic bag product you see most of time when you open your Amazon box.I was leaning towards a different one because I didn’t like what appeared to be a “checkerboard pattern” on this antenna. Well, once you put it on, you don’t see it at all.All of the ones I saw that appeared “smooth” were more expensive.Speaking of PRICE, this one is the shortest one out there and is much less expensive than the other super-short ones.PROS-High qualityUniversal kit w/adaptersEasy installShortest one availableNo need to remove for the carwashBest PriceCONS-NONE**Mount location. Using a stubby to replace a roof mounted antenna is much better than one mounted on your hood or trunk lipa. See below for the reasons why.*Reception.This will be true of ANY one of these short antennas. NOT a criticism of this one at all, I’m just providing this extra education for you:Radio antennas are a specific length for a reason. The length is what ”tunes” the antenna to receive specific radio bands (FM AM etc).So... It is actually impossible for a Shorty antenna to receive your regular radio channels very well, if at all. You will notice you are unable to receive many of the channels you used to get on your old antenna. it does NOT mean the antenna, this one or any other short replacement, is defective. It just can’t work as well as the antenna which is cut to the proper length. That being said, nowadays radio is broadcast in digital, as well as the old-school analog. These shorter antennas actually received the digital signals very well for the most part. You may see a reverse of what you hear now, if you have many digital channels in your area. They will come in better where their analog counterparts may not come in at all.And as I mentioned above, if this is replacing a hood-edge or side pillar antenna, you may see a drastic difference.

Direct fit on 2007 Ford Focus
Used this to replace the long and unsightly stock antenna on my 2007 Ford Focus. Installation was as simple as unscrewing the old antenna and screwing this on, it didn't even take a minute. There is definitely a decrease in sound quality if you're listening to radio stations but if you're like me and use an FM transmitter, the quality will stay the same.

Posts that came with it had to be altered in order to fit 2005 Pontiac Vibe
The quality looks decent, but the threaded posts that came with it had to be altered in order to fit 2005 Pontiac Vibe. All of them were too long and caused the antenna to be up about 1/4 inch or more from the base of the antenna. I had to use Dremel cut-off wheel to shorten the threaded post so the antenna would screw down to the base properly. The base of the antenna and the mounting point of the antenna base on the car are not an exact fit either. I used one of the supplied rubber gaskets/grommets to fill the odd gap.Haven't had a chance to test the reception of the antenna.

Great simple replacement antenna
The outer rubber coating on my 6" factory roof antenna was starting to crack off and this product was a clean and easy replacement, still going strong over a year later.

Update: Did not last long
Updated review (Nov 2021):This item did not last long. As shown on the photo, it broke off way too easy and my guess is from a car wash. I even have a roof rack with cross bars so even more reason this product should be able to withstand it. Totally disappointed by it. I will try to reach out to the manufacture to see if they can do anything but will be looking for a replacement.‐-------------------I was looking to replace the long OEM antenna and glad I came across this on Amazon. It was delivered quickly and had it installed quicker than taking it out of the packaging. Love it and recommend it to those that want to ditch the long factory one.

Bring on the carwash!
What a great idea! Easy install with a slight drop in reception. Lots of bad reviews about not getting signal, not sure what folks are thinking. You can't reduce the length of an antenna and not sacrifice quality. To expect anything else is frankly unrealistic.Don't want to watch your factory antenna get pummeled in the carwash? Get one of these. Looks sharp. Does the trick. Just go in with reasonable expectations.

Super easy to install
Dropped this little wang on my 2019 Colorado as I was tired of the factory antenna brushing up against the garage opening...now I wont have to worry about removing the antenna when I take trips through car washes either.I didn't notice a drop in radio reception, though I do live in a fairly urban city
