Possible contamination
Ive been feeding these treat for years now. Both my dogs had severe vomiting and bloody diarrhea lethargy a few weeks ago one right after the other.I work at an Animal ER specialty have been for over 20 years. So both dogs this means they were exposed to something food-treats-water ect In and out of the vet ultrasound-fecal-fluids-bloodwork-meds-injections not 1 day this was about 4 days in and out of the vet with both.Racking my brain what they both have in common that could have caused this.Put them only on I/D prescription food for 2 weeks the GI upset and symptoms were so bad they finally were back to normal a few days ago gave them both these treats small piece each twice a day for 2 days. You guessed it severe bloody diarrhea and vomit back all over my house.Back to the vet medication -injection.Come home my other dog had nausea his face ready to vomit abdomen distended. The only thing new was these treats.I have contacted Halo the woman that took my call said there has not been any reports of this as the line that processes these treats is inspected.I believe this bag has contamination of something .It does not mean these treats I have have been inspected you cannot inspect every treat.I will post an update as I want these treats my bag-batch tested by Halo to see if there is mold-salmonella-e coli ect bottom line you cannot inspect every treat if a bad batch is out there I want to relay to other pet owners .Vet visit could be past $1000.00 dollars each dog as well as your dog having these symptoms.I will update my post with Halo's response I have a call into them.I will also be filing a report with the FDA .Update I called Halo a week later today to follow up since I have not been contacted Samantha took my call same as my initial call I inquired about the follow up she relayed it was in a q&a and they were looking into it.Samantha said this could take a while she was rude talking over me?I told her I was just following up again she relayed no issue w/this product I told her all Im trying to do is report a problem with my treats-she said yes weve seen your amazon review.Halo you really need better customer service that acts concerned for a client reporting a problem w/your product.

I will no longer be purchasing this product, as ...
I will no longer be purchasing this product, as the new bags no longer say that the product is made in the USA. This calls into question the ingredients being used and the manufacturing process. My dog recently developed diarrhea, and we believe the new bag of treats is the likely culprit. Most pet owners want assurance that the foods they're feeding their pets are not made in China. See the bottom left corner of the old bag and new bag.

Great product and great company
I have a foster job who seems to have a lot of allergies and stomach issues. The peanut butter and pumpkin treats didn't seem to bother her at all and she really loved the flavor. She has been on prescription vet food for a little while, but the vet decided we should do a full on food trial. Meaning, the only treats she can have correspond with the type of food she's on. Of course, this happened right after I ordered 4 more bags of the Halo treats. Since the food trial lasts for 2 months, I was going to send the treats back.I initiated that process and received a refund. However, I was told I didn't need to return the treats. My guess is the company saw the reason why, the food trial, and let me keep them in addition to refunding my money. That was definitely not something they had to do but I was very impressed by it. Once the food trial is over, I will definitely slowly incorporate these treats again. Not just because they are okay with her stomach issues, but because of how great the customer service of the company is.

... breed especially) who has food sensitivity this is a GREAT treat, but in extreme moderation
If you have a pup (bully breed especially) who has food sensitivity this is a GREAT treat, but in extreme moderation. I am a vegan human who started my pups on a vegan diet last year after having really bad luck with foods and tummy upsets, itchy skin etc for my bully. I kept them on Vegan for almost a year and have recently discovered the problem was chicken so we are transitioning back into a standard K9 diet as my frenchie is very, VERY active and athletic and wasn't keeping enough weight on with a strictly vegan diet. Also, my 9 week (now 12 week) old Maltipoo pup was not growing or putting on weight with their Natural Balance Vegan dog food I had them on, despite feeding them extra. That said, both my little muffins love these treats but more than one a day (1/2 for my maltipoo) & they get very soft serve #2 & also very bloated and gassy. I compare it to having a fancy gourmet dessert as a human, you don't need more than a small amount. These treats are TOP NOTCH and will definitely be my "special occasion" treat for my little ones.

Vegan for the win! Great ingredients!
Love that they are veganWe try to give our beautiful puppy/dog as much vegan food and treats as possible. We tried the vegan halo wet and dry food but of course she likes the vegan treats better lol.Highly recommend! My wife and I have been vegan for 2-3 years, love it! Will buy this again! Also, if you are curious of how beneficial veganism and vegan treats like these are, check out what the health/game changers documentaries on Netflix
