A beautiful book
I loved the way Syd points to the Formlessness in such a way that I can remember the truth inside me. If you are feeling a longing to be reminded of our True Nature, give this one a read. Read with nothing on your mind and you just might feel the energy.

Living in the now
Syd Banks approach to "psychotherapy" is that you are already healthy. His three principles, Mind, Consciousness, and Thought; when applied can help people suffering from depression, anxiety, and other "emotional brain disorders". The primary thesis of his work is that when one is sufferring from depressive thoughts or other mentally incapacitating thoughts, the "patient" learns to realize that these are simply "thoughts". The thoughts are not reality and they only have power over a person if the person allows them to. In other words, once one recognizes that what ails them is simply a thought then they can elect to acknowledge it as simply a thought and not give it power to control one's feelings.Banks' philosophy is based upon living in the moment. The concept is that right now all there is, is this moment; the past is dead and the future is imagined. If we "worry" about what the future may bring or what happened in the past we are making ourselves sick. At any given moment we have everything we need to be happy and to enjoy life. It's beyond the scope of these reviews to really grasp the concept of Syd Banks work. For more information, here's a Website to a group that specializes in helping people benefit from the three principles: [...]I've worked with this group and I've had so much more success with them than the typical psychologist therapy. If you are troubled with depression, anxiety, suffering from a divorce, or just feel the need for therapay, either marriage counseling or individual "therapy" I highly recommend this methodology. There are many other groups around the country that use Banks' principles to help people. The link I've provided is one to a group that's near where I live.If you're troubled look into it and read the first book too: The Enlightened Gardener.

Disappointment
I was so disappointed when I received this book. I bought more than one copy to give to friends but will not gift them after reading my copy. It was clearly not written by Sydney Banks. The tone and languaging is completely different. I do feel that there should have been some recognition on the cover that this is not a Syd Banks book but a follow-up, written by somebody else. Also, I'm miffed that someone has to pay $100 to get a paperback copy of the original, written by Syd, Enlightened Gardener book. Something seems wrong here.

Life-changing!
Amazing book that really helps you come to terms with stinking thinking that leads to many trips to a counselor. This simple book is a life-changer when read with an open mind and heart. It is truly the road to happiness and mindfulness.

Enlightened and enchanting.
Originally I thought this was the same book as The Enlightened Gardener, I was wrong as I often am.It was a joy to read though and encompassed the 3 Principles which are now gaining popularity within sectors of therapy, if I have gained the main point it would be our inner world shapes our outer world via perception positioning.A great read to have within your toolkit to read and absorb then use with self reflection as an aid to self help rather than shelf help!

Another great story
Another great book by Sid Banks. A nice follow up from the enlightened gardener that helps the reader to explore the 3 principles a little further. I have read many texts that discuss the 3 principles although they seemed to over complicate them. These 2 books have helped me understand them on a deeper lever. Perhaps it's the characters in the book and the discussions they have that you almost feel part of? For anyone looking to understand the 3 principles I would 100% recommend both of these books.

Good to Have Read It.
I enjoyed this book and whilst considering what it says and the guru-like status that has emerged around Syd (probably since his death), I still found it a bit simplistic (maybe that's the point). I am still quite new to the 3 Principles, yet I see how this book might explain further the ideas of this simple and, of course, profound man.
