Best value by far and excellent customer service!
Probably like you, I reviewed all the pollen presses available on Amazon and eventually settled this unit from Interplanetary Development. I had also considered Grindhouse unit and another, which seemed appealing because of the larger diameter size. After several months of use I caused a probelm with the press by not cleaning it between runs. The result was that the plunger got stuck in the press and I couldn't get it out without using force. I eventually got it out, but during the removal process the plunger got bent just a tiny bit--unnoticeable to the naked eye but the plunger would no longer fit properly in the main body. I purchased a Grindhouse unit to replace it, but quickly found out the grindhouse was cheaper because it was inferior. The Grindhouse's maching was terrible--you could see the tool marks from the lathe still on the plunger. The ID unit is machined and finished much more nicely. The Grindhouse unit has no permanent storage box, the ID unit includes one. The Grindhouse press's walls, despite being larger overall, are thinner than the ID's walls. And finally, the Grindhouse's bigger diameter actually turned out to be a disadvantage--the pucks formed with it are more likely to fall apart and I just like the smaller diameter pucks better. Now the best part--I contacted ID and asked about buying a replacement plunger (I didn't ask for it for free because the unit got bent because of my own negligence). ID's response was a brand new replacement unit, free of charge including shipping. This is Nordstrom-style customer service. I'll be a life-long customer. Thanks ID!

The best ever.
Easy to use and will last a lifetime. I warm it up for about a half hour before removing the hash so it's solid. But soft and crumbly will still burn good enough if you're in a hurry. There are many opinions on using heat on Youtube. I found a way that works for me. Perfect for arthritic hands. No threads to wear out. All my thanks to this brilliant company for their fantastic contribution.

Designed in Texas: Made in China
For the price, I was surprised it wasn't made in the USA.The machining is good, but not excellent. There was one metal burr on the ram.Clean it before you use it. Mine needed it.Works as intended, and will last many years.I'd probably buy another if this one was lost.

Good Investment
As others write, this is a heavy, solid piece of steel with really not much to go wrong. It's easy to get the puck out - take the end cap off, invert it and give it another whack - the extra length of the piston pops it free, then hold it and whack the piston again and the puck will pop right out. Easy to use, indestructible, good results, quick, easy to clean. I like it a lot.

strong,quick easy enough
So much better than other versions, easy to use just add what you want pressed and hit it with a hammer, the harder you hit the tighter the puck.Use a rubber mallet and it will last forever. Steel may dent it, Titanium definitely will.

Simple design, more effective than a screw handle if you have a vise or wood clamps
Very nice design because instead of risking a T shape handle losing its threading, I simply put the ugh, pollen in and then I placed it into a vise. Be aware that if you pack it in and put it in a vise, if it compresses to much and you leave it sitting over night it will not punch out to easily. I ended up scraping mine out. But after that I only do it for a couple minutes now.

Simple and amazing!
This product is great! At first I thought the price was a little too steep but after using this thing for about 3-4 hours straight I can tell you for sure this thing is a solid piece of quality product, if you over fill it it will start to get a little gunked up and become a little difficult to pull the rod back out but because it is stainless steel it cleans super easy with some rubbing alcohol.. even then I didn’t have to clean it until the very end of my using it... the pucks it makes are so solid this thing gets a 5/5 star ratting easily (Use the rubber mallet for best results!!) Happy pressing!!!

Probably the best product I've ever bought.
This product is extremely well made and easy to use. While it should come with some sort of instructions for cleaning and its use, both are self evident. Used it right away for kief. I have a Storch and Bickel Mighty Vaporizer and the pressed kief pellets or pills,(depending on what you want to call the end product you've pressed), fits perfectly end to end in the chamber. I cannot say enough praise about this product. It will probably last more than a lifetime.

Solid Press Quality
At first the press kept getting jammed inside, so I had to use a funnel to pour contents into the tube, tap the tube and used a wooden spoon handle to push it in and pack it down a bit before I put the metal part of the press in. If I didn't use the wooden spoon it was clogging after every couple of presses. You can use a mallet to hit it but I find that it is better to get something hard and fairly flat in your hand and use that to push the press down.I put 1 gram in at a time for these, pressed it down with the wooden spoon, then with the metal press. Then I popped the little pick put and squeezed it in my fingers circle wise so that I could fit it back into the press the same way to press it again. After that I took it out squeezed it and put it back in the press and found it gave a good consistency.Hard and solid but still comes apart in lumos/chunks. You can press lighter and it will come apart easier. As long as you are pressing quality herbs it works well.As far as doing more than 2 gran picks at a time I'm not sure how well it works. I managed to make a 3.5 g but after that they were clogging so I made smaller ones but little practice think 3. 5 would work.Complaint is that it is actually very easy to trap your skin between the parts of the press. I did that a few times.

Optimal
