Me and My Piano Superscales: For the Young Pianist

This book was recommended by the wonderful piano teacher at my sons school. He’s 7 and asked to take piano lessons, I’ve seen a few beginner books for piano but this was the one the teacher always uses. It’s great. In each lesson a new finger is introduced. After 5 lessons he’s on ‘g’. The left hand is then introduced. It’s colourful, doesn’t get over complicated with sillyness like the cool clarinet range of books does. There are a handful of one or two line pieces. They all have lyrics which especially in the start is perfect to help keep a steady rhythm, especially when you can only play two notes. It stops it sounding boring. My son loves practise and his lessons. He can play 5 note tunes now and feels like a performer. This book really suits the very young player of a child that can read. My son is 7, as mentioned. It’s perfect for him.
