Works exactly like they state. I use this to put my two medium to large dogs in the back of my pickup. Note: I use harnesses for the dogs when I do this because most dogs can get out of a simple collar. The dogs love being in the back and I feel safe from them jumping out. Please remember that this will not protect the dogs in the event of a serious crash. I don't take the dogs on the highway with this. I only go to a local dog park that is not far away where the dogs get very muddy which is why I don't want them inside the cab of my truck.Having said all of that, this really is a simple chain with some common connectors. This can be fashioned from stuff at Home Depot for less money. Forty dollars was kind of steep.

I bought this over last winter and used it for the first time today... when we got to our final destination my smaller (under 40 lb) dog jumped out the tail gate before I could unhook her and the chain fitting completely failed! Last time I'll ever buy something of Amazon ahead of time or of impulse buy... Window for returning expired months ago... 😒

Overall, this product serves its purpose. The chain is slightly smaller than how it looks in the pictures, but it’s definitely heavy duty enough to restrain even the biggest dogs. One improvement would be to make the two tie-outs a few inches longer. As it is, they’re shorter than the distance from the center of the main chain to the end. This means two things: 1) that I can’t clip the collar clips to the carabiners for storage, and 2) that my dogs can’t get quite close enough to the truck rail. I understand that there’s a safety aspect, but my dogs constantly tried to see around the cab, straining themselves and their collars, but couldn’t reach because the chain is too short.In the end, I bought two more quick links and another 6 inches of chain for each end. After extending the tie-outs, the system is excellent.-GO

We drove from Las Vegas to New Mexico had 2 of our big dogs in the back. They loved the truck ride and I loved the security of knowing they were safe and secure.

Works great, i foster dogs so it is helpful when i have several of them and keeps them from jumping in the front. I have switched this from my suv and truck, can be adjusted.

after only a few weeks of use this chain has started rusting. it also is all held together by a cheap c clamp that is adjustable in being open or closed. this clamp opened up and the dogs were able to move freely in the bed of the truck.do not buy

I love this product mainly because of the swivel that prevents my knuckleheads from tangling/strangling themselves from moving around in the bed of the truck. You can drive for hours resting assured they aren't back there choking. It is adjustable all around to fit your needs. I would definitely buy again. Being metal is also a plus since I have chewers.
