Camera fell of on first ride.
The electrical and embedded software designs seem okay but the mechanical is a disaster. I installed the camera on my road bike and struggled a bit with the broken English manual. But I got everything working and had a split screen going with the camera view on the bottom third of an Android and Wahoo Fitness going on the top 2/3rds. It was great. About one half mile into my training ride the view changed to my rear wheel instead of out the back. I stopped and re-tightened the fastener that holds the camera to the seat post clamp. I tightened it as tight as I could. After another mile or so the same thing happened except this time the camera fell off the bike. The fastener designs on this product need to be redone.

Works quite well... one wishes the seller were as good with customer service
This camera is probably one of the best product on the market for the purpose for which it is intended. It is fairly easy to install and pretty much easy to use; that is, if the installation instructions are carefully spelt out and followed. Why the manufacturer and marketers have done such a poor job promoting this product is a wonder to me. They donât respond to question (of late) and when they did in the past they did so in such a ham-handed, geeky way as to leave the inquirer wondering if they do care about the product as they profess. The camera, as I have said, is easy to install, but the first steps are no baby steps, especially if you are not tech-savvy. The instructions that come with the camera take it for granted that you are familiar with how WIFI technology works and how to connect or link your android or i-phone device to the camera. It took me five days to figure this out, and this by watching a good number of Youtube videos until I arrived at one that proved helpful.Because this product has proved so useful and because I realize others (potential buyers as well as new buyers) might be in the same situation I found myself, I am outlining here an easy step by step way to install and operate the camera.Step 1: Take out the camera and all accompanying accessories out of the boxStep 2: Charge the camera, using the supplied USB wireStep 3: Turn to your Android smartphone or iphone to download and install the Bike WiFi Cam software [I find that the best and easiest way to access this program is by going to Google play or APP Store and typing âBIKE WIFI CAMâ.Step 4: Now set aside your phone and turn to the camera. Make sure it is turned on. It should be on when the green light is on. [WIFI signals are only emitted when the camera is on]Step 5: Now, go back to the phone. Our next objective is to access the WIFI on the phone and connect it to the WIFI now beaming from the camera. [If you know how to activate the WIFI function on your iphone or smartphone then you may skip step 6]Step 6: (Instructions for activating WIFI function an Android phones). Go to (or activate) âSettingsâ on your phone. Under âWireless & Networksâ you will see âWi-Fiâ. Activate âWi-Fiâ.Step 7: You will see a number of names appear. These are the names of devices beaming Wi-Fi in your current location. Among the names that appear is âGOSCAMâ. That is the name we are interested in. Select or load that, and you will seeâŠâŠâGOSCAMNo Internet access detected - Wonât automatically reconnectâStep 8: Select GOSCAM nevertheless. You will now seeâGOSCAMSignal strength/ Excellent/ Security WPA2 PSKForget Cancel ConnectâStep 9: Select âConnectâ in step 8 above.Step 10: Use the Back key to scrow back to the main menu of your device.Step 11: Now press or activate the âBike Wifi CamâYou should now see an image on your device, an image of what your camera is currently pointing at.PS: Attached are images of the camera on my bike, with pics of the contractions I built to fit the camera on the rack attached to the back of the bike and a pic of what I saw on the phone screen (via the camera) on a recent ride along the lake by my house.â

Good camera, flawed technology
I've never had to leave a negative review.. and I feel bad about this, but I need to provide this info for anyone looking to use this rear-view camera the same way I had intended.Three issues. The first one isn't so much a problem with Homscam as it is with the WiFi Cameras in general. You need to be aware that while your Android phone is connected to the camera, you will not be able to use your mobile data for connectivity. I should have realized this, being in the tech industry, but I guess I assumed I'd figure out a work-around. The problem is that your phone sees that you're connected to the WiFi "hotspot" (camera) and therefore disables your mobile data connection. So, forget about listening to Spotify while on your bike. Might have different results if you're using iOS. - I do, however, feel that Homscam could have provided a disclaimer on the product page.Second, this is also not really a problem with Homescam, and is more to do with the general usage of WiFi cameras AS A REAR-VIEW method while cycling. No matter how big and bright your phone, and no matter how well mounted, it's still not very convenient or easy to make out details - vs. simply shoulder checking. - I think this may have been alleviated if the Homescam app offered brightness settings. I wouldn't mind a washed out view if it meant I could still make out detail while full sunlight is shining on my phone, and I have sunglasses on.Lastly, within a few days of using it, with no apparent change in the configuration the app suddenly refuses to recognize the camera, despite the device being successfully connected to the camera's hotspot. I troubleshot until my patience ran out, but because of the first two issues, my heart was only half into it.For me, the whole thing was a wash - and it is now sitting in my junk drawer. But, to be fair, here are the good things: - I really like the form-factor and build quality. - ALL the cables (and length) you could possibly need; the battery connector cable, and cable ties - all awesome. - I was able to get it EXTREMELY well-secured to the bike, because the bolt holes are actually the exact same spacing as the reflector mount on my Topeak MTX track. - Easy to adjust and lock the tilt level into position. - It's neat how the camera can unlock from its mount, and the USB connections are quick-release yet also feel secure (and water resistant at the port). I do, however, worry that others may find the camera could inadvertently release given enough impact or jostling. Not a problem with the way I mounted it though. It's a great idea, but not a great solution to those wanting to actually watch your 6 while biking.

Great camera! Now, after app revision, great software for IOS.
Originally I gave this produc a four star rating due to the lack of iOS software and a few other issues associated with accessories and cable hook up. Now with the new app revision and sorting out some of cable questions, I can say this camera, and everything about it, is great in every way; good resolution, wide angle, easy to operate and fortunately, intuitive to setup. Having a USB charge outlet on my ebike, it would have been nice to have the camera port for the control cable and USB charge cable separated. This would provide almost unlimited time to power camera. The only remaining issue is how to correct the recorded video mirror image. iMovie maybe can do the job, but I have yet to figure that out. Photos are easy to flip, there is an app for that. Advise: don't review this product too early. Work with it, get to know it, there is a lot here to descover.
