Great work of history
Character and virtue, are the descriptive terms I would use to describe the book. The remembering of the simpler times of history brought heart felt feelings that washed over me as I read the book. In addition, the book was educational as to the many characters that were involved in the many series that went on to become superstars in the industry, that I never knew played a role in the iconic series depicted in the writings of Mr. Tucker. I would recommend this book to anyone that is a fan of history and the simpler times of life.Robbie Eastham

Quick Read, great book
This book is more of a quick summary of each of the westerns that aired on network television during the 1950s, 60s and 70s. The lengthiest entries are, naturally, for GUNSMOKE and BONANZA. The breakdown for each TV western are the years the program initial aired, the network, the number of episodes telecast, cast, ratings, theme song and synopsis of the series. There were series documented that I was not aware of such as ACTION IN THE AFTERNOON (televised from 1953 to 1954), and DUNDEE AND THE CULHANE (telecast in 1967). The book includes a chapter aptly titled "Reflections, Facts and Opinions." There is a 31-page spread of photographs. Fully indexed.

A nostalgic review of television westerns
This book took me back to my youth when I loved to watch westerns on television. I loved it and couldn’t put it down once I started. Each show is listed along with the statistics of the actors and length of the shows. I would recommend this book to anyone who grew up in this era, especially with Gunsmoke and Bonanza. The pictures are great and memories outstanding.

Highly Informative
This is a great reference book to television westerns, as well as being a very entertaining read. I had a hard time putting it down until I finished the whole read, was truly shocked about the number of shows I had never heard of. It is a treasure for the T.V. western lover, unbelievable so much information can be packed into this volume. And, the pictures are top-flight! Well done!

A trivia lover's dream
Being 72 years old I grew up watching so many of the westerns detailed in this book. There are several here that I was not aware of. Obviously, a lot of research went into this book. It is both informative and a joy to read. Any lover of old westerns should have this book.
