This has been posted as a counter to the one-star blather.Russell is an artist's artist, admittedly. He's been increasingly popular with young musicians and artists over the past decade, and will likely gain in popularity. I think he is a lot like Cezanne, who in some ways created modern painting but never got much attention in his lifetime. Both artists worked at home and were supported by family and/or a partner who understood their need to work every day uninterrupted.

This is honestly one of the worst albums I've ever had the misfortune to listen to. Lacking in any harmony, oftentimes the "songs" sound as if the artist is simply playing other tapes over each other at different speeds, possibly distorting them but easily something a child could and probably has done at some point. Easily one of the strangest highly reviewed albums I've ever encountered.

A true pioneer in modern popular music. Impossible to describe;his music has to be heard.

本作はアーサーラッセルの未発表音源集ないし別テイク音源をまとめたアルバムである。音に関して言えばリズムが強調されており、特に2曲目はバックでお決まりのチェロが聞こえはするものの基本リズムマシンが鳴り響くだけのデモ感満載のトラックです。アルバムcalling out of contextがハマった人ならば買ったほうが良いんではないでしょうか。ちなみにベストトラックは9曲目のoceanノイズとインダストリアルとサイケと現代音楽をごっちゃ煮したような音はまるでアーサーラッセルという人物を表しているかのようです。しかし、このおおよそエレクトロな音をどう形容すればいいのか？当時巷を席巻していたニューウェイブなどという言葉では到底片付けられないし、片付けたくもない音像すなわちアーサーラッセルの創る音楽とは、どうしようもなくオルタナティヴだったという事を実感させられます。
