Great stone for great price
Currently using the stone for straight razor finisher. Was previously ending on a 8k super stone which was alright, but after using this as a final hone I won't need to touch-up with any other stones. The only imperfection i found in the stone was a small (1-1.5") line in the corner which could be a fracture but i don't notice any deviation when my blades slide across it. Stone came perfectly flat, although the texture seemed polished. After use I saw the slight roughage from my blades but did not effect the final polish. Pictured is the side without the emblem as i didn't want to mess with that. Also purchased the smaller pocket stone which I use with my pocket knives for quick touch-ups. I don't have any experience with any other natural stones, but this was definitely cheaper than other "jnats".

Stone is hard as described. Love at first sight.
The media could not be loaded. I love the hardness of this stone. I have not used it yet, still need to lap it, and put some nail hardner over the Japanese letters. I am extremely pleased as well as surprised to see it came with a leather pouch stone holder, I couldn’t be happier for the price. Almost want another cause the price is so damn affordable. It’s my first jnat, I consider it to be one anyway. It’s a Japanese natural stone after all. Going to purchase the medium stone also. I can’t wait to start honing on this beautiful rock.UPDATE: This stone is absolutely amazing. I don’t know how it does it for a natural stone but it does indeed put a mirror finish on my blades. Now, this might of been something I did, but I pulled the stone out of its leather pouch after using the day before, and sadly, there are a couple of hairline fractures on it. I never banged it, dropped it, anything of the sort. I’m thinking the culprit is one of two things, possibly both. First, I used warm water when rinsing off the slurry after honing with it. Second, I stored the stone back in the leather pouch without letting the stone fully dry. So keep that in mind, those are no no’s. I didn’t think I’d have to but am going to seal the sides and bottom, that should help to keep the stone together should the fractures want to get worse, that is my theory anyway. Might even try to carefully lap the fractures out first. All in all I have zero cons. The stone is fantastic at what it’s supposed to do, especially when both stone and nagura are lapped fully flat.
