The whistle seems to be of very good quality and rhe silver looks realy nice. I would say it's a medium size compared to other whistles i've had. It is also plenty loud and should work great got any use. The lanyard is thick enough to handle the weight of the whistle plus some It is not a breakaway style but it was'nt advertised as such. I thougt it ws a pretty good deal and I would buy another wne if I need another whistle in the future. The only draw back is that the little compass detached from the side of the whistlle, I contacted the sellee via e-mail and they were very halpful. They gave me a couple of salutions to the problem and also offeered to replace them. It is realy not a huge deal to me at all.

The whistle is loud and it works, nothing special about it... so no complaints on that.The only thing I have to say is that the first photo is kind of deceiving in that the navigational compass does not come attached to the side of the whistle....So don't be surprised when you open the package and see a regular whistle with a tiny loose compass...Also, there is no magnetic component or glue to attach it to the side as the first photo depicts.

the whistle is fine. the annoying follow-up from the minute i placed my order, however, was quite irksome and creepy. first they wanted permission to call me, which i denied. they followed that up with an email regarding my denial. a week later, they email me with a handful of questions asking how happy i am with my new whistle. leave me the heck alone! so whistle gets a 4 (cos the compass wasn't even connected) and company annoyance gets a -10, averaging out to a 1 star.

This a very loud whistle. However, It does not look well though. The metal they use looks cheap. The compass was not attach to it. They are expecting me to add super glue I guess.

I suppose I thought that the compass would be attached to the whistle. Nope. I also thought that the compass would actually work. Nope. The whistle works. It seems durable. It's loud. It's got a decent enough lanyard. I would give the whistle 4 or 5 stars. The compass is a joke.

I ordered and received my whistle in just a few short days. My purpose for the whistle is not just for singular use. I am a mom of four kiddos, youngest are twin 2yr olds. My plan is to use at park ( if they start to run too far, we have two playgrounds and lots of open fields and walk/jog path) , it will get their attention, we also have a young pup to train. Lastly, I actually keep neck string portion tied in a slip knot on my purse bc I take it in whether alone or w my little ones, to use as an emergency/panic whistle....call me paranoid. I also travel alone to my mom and sister's house to visit , just w kids, on back roads for about an hour and a half. This will come in handy even if only for my comfort. My oldest is also on track and field team, possibly soccer later on. I love how loud the whistle is and light to wear. Sports, training, safety, you're covered. It's loud without hurting your ear as some emergency only whistles will. Thanks again guys.

I ordered 6 different whistles from Amazon after purchasing one from a sports store and hating it. Of the 6 that I purchased, this one won. It is SUPER loud. It is thick, sturdy metal with nice looking welded seams. Has a deep powerful sound to it. The compass works well but did pop off of the whistle right away (I don't care at all because I only bought the whistle for the whistle). You could probably glue the compass back on with a sturdy glue like a jeweler's glue or gorilla glue. Whistle is very sturdy. Seller was excellent at fast shipping and communication.

The whistle worked great at day camp. I had no trouble getting the campers attention. I loved that it came with its own lanyard. That made it much easier to keep track of and to be ready available. I had a little problem with the compass. It's failure to stay attached to the whistle was a big disappointment.
