Be sure to get the right size for your Espresso Machine. Too small, and coffee grinds leak out around it. Too big, and it obviously won't fit. Otherwise, this has been an awesome addition to my coffee addiction!

This is a fantastic hand tamper for my espresso machine. It is adjustable so I could determine the exact amount of espresso and what depth to tamp it to. My espressos have improved significantly since I started using this, the consistency is noticeably improved.The distributor side works well, and it also actively tamps the coffee down when it use. The adjustments are simple. It is very well made, with an excellent finish and nice hefty weight.

The tamper is obviously a good quality tamper, the adjustments work well, and it fits perfectly. The only issue that I had with the item is that it came slightly damaged due to the packaging being poor quality. It comes in a bubble envelope, and a very this box inside of there. It looks like it was dropped at one point, and the edge of the tamper side has a bit of damage to it :/

As someone always looking to perfect my espresso routine this seemed like a good tool. I would be able to distribute/level my bed, and tamp all in one. Construction of this is pretty hefty, but the adjustment mechanism is a bit clunky. Basically the two sides adjust independently, but there is a screw between them holding it together, which means that there is a max amount you can adjust one side before it gets too far and the thing falls apart. So if you max one side, you'd be pretty much at the min of the other. This became a problem after I adjusted it to distribute correctly and then went to tamp. I extended the tamping side as far as I could keeping the leveling/distributor side fixed, and it wasn't deep enough to fully tamp. So I ended up tamping with my other old tamper. I did find that on my Gaggia Classic portafilter basket that this distributor does fit pretty well.

I have used this distribution tool for over a year. When I recently upgraded our espresso machine to one with a larger portafilter, I bought a different distribution tool as I couldn’t find this one again in the larger size. But saw this brand tool again just a week later and quickly ordered it in the new size.It is like an old friend. Love the weight, adjustments, and how it levels my grounds in the portafilter. It is built like a tank. When set to the depth I like, remains dialed in there solidly. It is built so well, I am sure it will outlive me.

This clever device is a must for the serious home barista. It has two sides: one for distributing the grounds evenly in the portafilter, and the other for tamping the grounds so that they're firm and level. The depth of each side is individually adjustable. You may have to play around a bit to get the level the way you want for your basket and size of dose, but once set correctly you'll never have to touch it again.In distributor mode, it takes just a couple of twists for the 3 "propellers" to level the dose. The tamper side is flat and smooth, of course. One advantage of using this kind of tamper is that it automatically remains level, since the outer edge of the tamper rests against the lip of the basket. Setting the depth of the tamper correctly will insure that you get the dose to the correct firmness.It comes in three different sizes: 51mm, 53mm, and 58mm. I got the 58mm, which weighs in at a hefty 575 grams. That's over a pound-and-a-quarter for this compact gizmo that fits in the palm of your hand! So it's both more compact and heavier than other similar products. No complaints here.It's a well-made product, and I heartily recommend it.

This espresso leveler and tamper in one, is a must have for home baristas for that home brewed espresso.I am very happy with how it works and the 51mm size is perfect for my manual espresso maker.Feels heavy on my hand and great at evenly distributing my powder and pressing it down for the brew!If you have a 51mm basket; I recommend this product!Hope this helps!
