This is an Asher Guitars custom wound matching set of "Sweet T" pickup that has just the right mix of materials and mojo. They have high quality Alnico 5 magnets, 42g Formvar wire, and are dipped in shellac (not wax) for an overall improvement in tone and harmonic response. These pickups deliver super sweet trebles, clear mids, and fat lows with a nice stable vintage microphonic tone. The tone is a bit sweeter on the top end and delivers a nice punch. The bridge pickup is wound to 8.8 k and the neck is 6.7k.

Sweet is right - perfect match with the TV
Aptly named ...Bill knows what he's doing. I bought the bridge to match a TV Jones Filtertron neck, dropped into a body made from an old chestnut barn beam, with a birdseye maple neck. And a Bigsby. And, inevitably, called Chestnut Mare. Sweet is right - perfect match with the TV, tremendously dynamic and touch sensitive. Seems to know what I'm looking for even before I do. I use thumb and fingers, and it'll pop or sting on command - try it with a no load tone pot. Plus the fact that it's made on Red's old winders can't hurt - I've got two other Tele's I built with southern yellow pine and Velvet Hammers in the bridge, and they're unreal. Finally, I think a lot of it has to do with the shellac potting instead of drowning it in beeswax/paraffin ... I mean, like, think about what earwax does to one's tonal perception ... am I wrong ?
