Obsessed Explicit Lyrics

The mastering engineer should find new work. He's awful. I won't print his name, since I can't be sure he's totally/solely responsible for the gorilla intelligence level of its production -- which boasts truly brutal, jacked-up sound. I thought of writing IN ALL CAPS TO PROVE A POINT AT HOW BAD THE MASTERING IS... but figured I too would be like the ape that did the mastering. So... I stopped myself. Imagine that... I thought about what I was doing and how others might react to it... kind of the "job" a sound/mastering engineer should do. Right?Anyway... Jim is great fun and this CD is good. But play it on "2" since the mastering engineer is just learning. I'm sorry -- THE MASTERING ENGINEER IS JUST LEARNING.

As much as I've always loved Jim Gaffigan, by now his act has gotten pretty tired. If you've heard anything by him before, you know what to expect: Musings on American overeating/fast food; musings on having a ton of children; Brooklyn-accent marketer character; imitated audience conversations; musings on being lazy/weak/unattractive. It's not that it isn't funny; it's that it was funnier the first 15 times that we heard it. Gaffigan's first Comedy Central stand-up special, which was delivered in a laid-back style, still remains his best after all of these years, one because it was much less frenetic (and better-paced) than it became later, and two because he hadn't settled into his later patterns.Gaffigan's still worth listening to, and probably will sound much funnier to those who don't own all of his specials the way that I do.

I like all of Jim's work, but I found this release to be "tired". The delivery and voices used to deliver the material begin to get almost annoying, almost as if enough is enough. Still, his material is witty and the album is funny, if you can tolerate more of the odd voices, etc. I looked forward to this being released and after a couple of listens, I gave it a 4 out of 5.

One of my favorite standups... seen him quite a few time. when my wife and I take long road trips, we play a lot of comedy cds. sometimes its back to back Gaffigans.. and we're still laughing at the same jokes.. because as in other comedians.. their success is in how they DELIVER the jokes.. and stories. Jim is very good at that . worth the money.

I really enjoy JIm Gaffigan's comedy. However, in my opinion, "Obsessed" isn't nearly as good as his previous release, "Mr. Universe", or even "Beyond the Pale". While "Obsessed" is funny at times, the majority of the jokes are centered around food. His previous releases have a lot of food jokes, as well, but there is a lot more variety in the jokes than there seems to be in "Obsessed".I was really excited to listen to this, and so I rushed out to buy it. Unfortunately, I wish I would have listened to more of this before purchasing, as I don't feel the quality and lack of variety in this release warranty a purchase.

This man is hilarious. I struggled to find something funny to listen to while both of my parents were in the car during a six hour road trip. My father is a deacon so I have to be careful of what I play around him; there is no vulgarity with Jim Gaffigan's humor. He can crack you up over topics such as camping, a "bonus" fry, working out at the gym...with no foul language. If you want to laugh, look no further.

I purchased this and four other Jim Gaffigan CDs for my husband for Fathers' Day and we haven't stopped laughing since. His bits - mostly about food - are hilarious. All five CDs are laugh out loud funny. He is our favorite comedian by far, and he manages to be nonstop funny while keeping it clean.
