I'm surprised by how well this non-OEM piece of plastic snapped securely and beautifully onto my 2021 Ninja 650. Honestly wasn't expecting a shiny/metallic black piece to look so good on a grey bike, but I love being wrong sometimes. This is the cheapest and most effective motorcycle safety device available, since it will prevent the bike from accommodating a SECOND human, which never belongs on the back of such a vehicle....Installation takes literally 5 minutes ... all you have to do is:1) remove the upper part of the metal locking assembly from the bike (and reattach the lower part of that locking assembly back onto the bike), and then2) install the four round rubber bumper pins AND the two small slotted rubber bumpers (had to cut 1/4" of length off to fit the cowling's left and right attachment locations) into the underside of the cowling.Then just slide the completed cowling backward into the seat catch (like the passenger seat was) and gently press down the front of the cowling until you hear a 'snap' from the locking mechanism."Comfort" gets a 4/5 because the front edge of the cowling is raised hard plastic instead of the soft cushioned leading edge of the passenger seat. The Ninja 650 pulls pretty good and that cushioned piece has come in handy. I plan to install tank grips (to use my 'core' to keep weight off my wrists) and I bet that'll fix the plastic backrest problem by keeping my but forward in the saddle.Buy one of these before they run out. Look good but ride SAFE! JB

Way better to spend 60 than 260. Wish it fit tighter in back, which they said would happen. Great price for what it is.

This is the Matte Black version. Fits my 2020 Z650 ABS quite well. 4 stars for now until we see how it lasts with normal use and sun-fade of colors, etc.EDIT: 7-28-22. I bought the other popular sellers (Lab) version, and it not as nice as this one. This one has all metal hardware and a metal latching post, the other is 100% plastic. this one has a nice weight to is, and the rubber tipped rear tab and its all metal, versus all plastic in the "L" version.The cowl came with all the hardware installed, and it came with 4 rubber footpads which you can see in the photos. simply remove the metal bracket for the seat latch (see pic where im pointing to it removed), and reinstall the locking mechanism. then the cowl fits right into place, and a firm push down locks it into place.See photos for how the color matches up to the matte Spark Black of the 2020 Z650. the gaps are not too inconsistent, and overall I'm happy with this cowl. I've ordered another version here on Amazon in Gloss Black and it took a month to get it (see edit above). this cowl came via Prime in 2 days.EDIT after a month, it's wearing nicely, no rattles and is way better than the other popular brand. also 2-day prime delivery was awesome. update to 5 stars.

Fit perfect for my ninja 650! Attach and remove just like the stock passenger seat. No screws or pins needed.

You have to remove the metal lock piece and add all the rubber garments.Also have to push down and back towards taillight to lock it in.cant beat it for $45!

Received it today, installed the rubber pads (took less than a minute) and went right on without any modifications on my 2017 Ninja 650. Fits the bike great and looks good. Hopefully it lasts, but there's only one way of finding out!
