Follex Decal Eraser Wheel

I needed to remove business decals from a truck I put up for sale. Obviously the paint needed to be protected, and i didn't want to spend all day working on it. I ordered 2 of these little beauties based on previous reviewers suggesting that more than one may be needed for my job. I think I could have gotten all of the decals off with just one wheel (I didn't use it all the way down to the markings), but was happy that I had enough, and didn't have to order another wheel partway through the project. I'll hang on to the partially used 2nd wheel in case I ever need to do anything like this again.The wheel was easy to use, didn't take too much muscle and while it made a lot of dust, it rinsed easily off the vehicle. I was especially pleased that after rinsing, there wasn't even an outline of where the letters had been! it has been a few weeks since I removed the decals, and there is still no sign that they were ever there (for 14 years!).The price is fair, and removing 3 decals (across the tailgate, one on each door) took a total of about 30 minutes altogether.

Works like a giant eraser for vinyl graphics. I removed a significant amount of vinyl from a box van without damaging any of the underlying factory finish on the aluminum skin. It does also remove the adhesive so there is no need for additional adhesive remover (in my case anyway). It does create a substantial amount of dust as it removes the vinyl and adhesive as it wears down with use, just like a pencil eraser. Takes a little use to figure out the proper speed to run. I used it with my battery powered drill at about 1/2 speed and it worked great. Running it too fast caused the vinyl & adhesive to smear from the heat of the friction it generates. I would have given it 5 stars if the pictured arbor was included. The arbor must be purchased separately. Would purchase again.

Used this to take the stripes off my boat. Tried heat and other things before this. This made work so quick and easy it wasn’t funny. Left no marks behind at all.

Used this Eraser Wheel to remove the decals on my 1993 motorhome. It seemed to work well removing the vinyl stripes where the vinyl had been protect from UV light. Example: behind the marker lamps or other accessories. In areas exposed to the sun... It didn't work so well. The wheel would remove the top layer (the color layer), but the adhesive still remained. In these areas (which was most of it), it was easier to use a heat gun and scraper, then acetone and a 3M scrubby pad to remove the remaining adhesive residue.Summary: If your vinyl decals and stripes are fairly new, this Eraser Wheel works great! If your decals are old and sun baked... you're better off going old school.

I paid good money for this and it did not last over 10 minutes when I used it. I really wanted it because of the wide head on it, but it caught on a piece of metal on the vehicle and flew apart before I got to do anything. so I am sure it is a good product but mine was a waste of money.

My husband purchased this and yes I am writing the review for him! He bought it to take the stripping off of our 32' Sea Ray Boat, his baby! He has tried many different ways to remove this stripping with no successful way of doing it until he ordered this decal eraser wheel. Thank Heavens he did. He used up one wheel removing the stripping on one side of the boat and is ordering another one so he can finish the job. As his wife I am so excited he found something that would take off the stripping or decal however you want to word it and not damage the boat. Thanks so much for having this product. Yes I would recommend this product. And we are buying another and will continue to use this in the future.

But if you want to know why: tried to remove decals from a school bus. Not only did every angle, direction, and what-have-you, hardly even put a crack in the decals, it ground down the rubber wheel so that tiny beheadings of rubber were everywhere. So- it tears apart itself but the decal just laid there and laughed. I painted over it and threw the wheel in the garbage.

Used 6 to remove most decals from a 5th wheel trailer; works best at higher speeds (2500 rpm+). Takes time but did a good job of removing decals and glue, leaves lots of dust but easily vacuumed off. Better and less costly than 3M's eraser wheel. Wear dust mask and eye protection.
