The OZ-100 is designed to be small in size, robust, and complement the style and design of car interiors. Ozone is a very powerful oxidizing gas which oxidizes long chain molecules that can be smelt by the nose. When oxidized, these long chain molecules break down into shorter molecules that cannot be smelt, thus removing the odor from the air. Ozone generated by this method is considered to be relatively pure. The amount generated is small and within the international safety standard guidelines of 0.08 ppm over 8 hours. Real O3 generator!
These are excellent. I actually expected less than what I got. These are the real deal, actual ozone generators. They are not fakes as you so often find in the flashlight shaped 12v socket ones. The item is even better than the ones they took the photos since it has been improved with a silastic coating on the circuit board to protect it from oxidizing itself to death. See the images I posted and observe the black coating. I think it's a shame that people do not understand these devices and therefore give them low ratings, even though it's their own lack of knowledge that's the issue - not the product. This device creates a very high voltage that is sent around the neon ampule via that stainless wire wrapped around it. Note that the neon is NOT being powered by its pins. They are soldered together and act as a ground. The high voltage wire around it is generating a corona discharge which is unfortuanly invisible due to being visually overpowered from the neon gas lighting up as a response to the high voltage. That corona is what generates the ozone. Basically, if you see the device lighting up orange it's working. I expected to see stainless steel screen wrapped around the neon lamp rather than wire as this increases surface area and therefore makes more ozone. That said, this device works and will likely function for a long time. One thing to note; there is a little ring provided to hang it from. This is important as the slots must be at the lowest point when in operation. Ozone is heavy compared to air and if it pools up inside the case it will oxidize the device and ruin it. Another related point is that ozone will oxidize anything it can. Things like metal will rust, and rubber will crack and dry out. This is the property that gets rid of odors and kills bacteria and the like, but be mindful how close you keep sensitive items to this things output. Use 303 Aerospace Protectant to keep things safe from ozone if they must be close by.Thanks for offering a good product and at a great price.Anyone who is on the fence about these little O3 generators due to bad reviews, ignore them! They just don't know what they are talking about. This would be perfect for a fridge, car, closet, or small RV. It's not going to shock treat an entire room or anything, but that's not what it was made to do.
